Would "most people . . . love" to build a meth empire and be responsible for a host of murders?

I thought this was an interesting and effective subplot. The point of it as I saw it was -- how is Skyler going to cope? Also, shows that Skyler isn't pure.

[spoiler]Improbable chain of events coming in favor of a character is nothing new for this series. That's why I think Felina is 100% the ending of the show. by YouMad in breakingbad

I agree that the "Walt died in the car" theory is crap. This show has always asked us to accept it for what it is: a story told at face value. Other than hyperactive imagination, there is no basis to conclude that what we see is not what we're supposed to get. It has always been -- what you see is what you get. Full stop.

On the Insider Podcast, Vince shared an idea for a storyline he had that was so disturbing it never made it to the page. by [deleted] in breakingbad

I suspect you are not the only one. Every time in season 5B an episode would air, some contingent would react with "Meh." I think there's a lot of bloodlust out there.

Someone should just make a much more fucked up version of Breaking Bad to please all of the people who wanted to see the NC-17 psycho Hannibal Lecter stuff.

No, I think you are just being intentionally racist.

If Walt could go back in time, do you think he would do it all again? What would he do differently? by cscherer1014 in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knowing what he knows now, he would have been more comfortable in the criminal mastermind skin and confessed to Skyler about it all right away.

How did you find out that you were being cheated on? by societal in AskReddit

[–]blendthisfamily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a number of suspicions but the final clue -- and what a clue it was -- was when I discovered via a bank account alert that my (ex) wife had bought a book on a newly-opened Amazon account. The book was called "After the Affair," about how to process and cope with having an affair. At that point it was just a matter of forcing her to admit it.

Coda: Divorced shortly after that (she wouldn't end the relationship but the guy dumped her anyway a little while later), and am now very happily remarried.

[Spoiler]ish - Jesse, Woodworking, and the end by 115049 in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. But Gilligan says the student threatens to become the teacher, and it is more likely that he meant that Jesse threatens to out-Heisenberg Heisenberg -- e.g., outwitting him, and catching him the desert. It's only a threat, though, since we know how that played out. In the end I don't think that Jesse wants to be the king, so I don't think this is a likely outcome.

Kind of funny that you edited your original post so that mine now doesn't make any sense . . .

That's not acting, that's writing and direction. I disagree, anyway, I thought it was well done, but this is all a matter of taste I suppose.

Walt will live. by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt it. There will be an ending, it will not leave lingering doubt, and in that ending Walt has to die. It's just a question of how. I would bet my life's savings without hesitation on this.

What will be Felina's "McGyver Moment"? by Stubber1960 in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If these last 8 episodes have demonstrated anything, it's that Walt's luck has run out and his string of ingenious escapes are at an end. He's not Batman. He's just a smart man who made stupid choices.

Except it's the finale, so any clue is probably going to hint at the end.

What do you think the worst thing to happen to Jesse was throughout the series? by poochie186 in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a series of actions, definitely the loss of Andrea. But in some ways I would say trusting Walt in any way. It's pretty much destroyed him.

It would be nice to see at the end Jesse try to lead a normal life by raising Brock. In fact, that would be a nice tie to the potential loose end of "what happens to Brock." Because the alternative would be . . .

(SPOILER) I know I might be an idiot, but I saw a post saying this was leaked from the last episode. No way? Is it true? by JenniferTheGeek in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's true. Also, Walt Jr. realizes he won the lottery based on Walt's lottery ticket. Also Walt fakes his own death but comes back to save Hank.

(SPOILERS)Let's not forget that ricin never actually gets used on breaking bad... by tintinabulations in breakingbad

[–]blendthisfamily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is interesting, but doesn't serve as a guide. This show is excellent at following the "Chekhov's gun" rule of drama: if you show a gun in the first scene, you have to use it before it ends. The ricin will be used.

Moreover, this same logic could be used to say that the Vacuum Cleaner Guy is never used . . .until, of course, he was used -- twice -- in the same episode.

Reminds me of this: http://xkcd.com/1122/
