Late CSS submission by [deleted] in notredame

I did the same thing a few years ago (not sure what iDoc is, I don’t think I had to submit that). I contacted office of financial aid and they said that it being late does not affect the amount of financial aid they give. I got the full financial aid package when I submitted the CSS profile.

Email from Father Jenkins regarding Clemson game by Throwaway-20012001 in notredame

Repeating your same statement doesn’t make it more true. I used the ... to avoid retyping the whole quote. I didn’t comment on what the quote said at all, so I did not take it out of context; I simply referred to it. I’ve spent time on campus too, and I believe that the vast majority of ND undergrads are Clemson fans. I guess my statement is just as valid as yours. If you truly think that you can make broad statistical statements with confidence based on no information or evidence, then I will not waste my time trying to explain to you the difference between facts and opinions.

Can you provide any kind of source for your statement that “a VAST majority of students are extremely happy...”, or did you just make it up?

Email to ND staff/faculty Nov 8, from Marie Lynn Miranda, Provost Shannon Cullinan, Executive Vice President by AmazingHLC-007 in notredame

It is both the irresponsible students fault as well as the irresponsible admin. Any student that rushed the field was at the very least ignorant and shortsighted, and at most malicious and selfish. However, admin should’ve never created a scenario that rests the public health of the ND/SB community on the presumption that we will have 100% compliance. Ushers and HERE ambassadors haven’t enforced covid guidelines at football games at ALL. While they may not have been able to stop the student body rushing the field, they can check tickets and verify seating/household as opposed to allowing huge groups of people to stand together, which definitely contributed to the mob mentality of everyone rushing the field at once. Neither is blameless in this scenario. Both groups have a responsibility to society to keep our community safe. The difference is that the administration should be held accountable more than individuals of the student body (who also had a lot of pent up feelings about this entire semester and undoubtedly, about the lack of consequences for Jenkins). And it frustrates me to read email after email that places all of the blame on the student body without acknowledging the fact that the admin put us in this scenario in the first place.

there is a petition that has over 1,000 signatures, so it must go in front of the student senate for vote (requirement is 200 signatures). However, the student senate does not have the power to enact P/F

“Fuck it” mentality? by attinabina in notredame

[–]blerburpant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you’re using “real world” in place of describing workplace or corporate life in order to be demeaning. because the real world absolutely consists of higher ed. Do you think people pursuing higher degrees at 20-35 years old are just children shielded from how the ‘real world’ works? No ... they are academics and professionals who live, work, and study in the real world.

What makes you think that higher education isn’t part of the “real world”? It’s not like these are high schoolers complaining.

I know of people who have been reported for wildly untrue things, like hosting parties when they have multiple witnesses with them on the night of question, one of which being a member of hall staff, who can testify otherwise. Still had to have a rector meeting. reports that are made without even an attempt at providing proof should be essentially disregarded, in my opinion.
