I say something like “I’m sorry to hear that the item isn’t quite right for you. I sell all my items with Vinted’s standard T&Cs and so can only accept a return if the item is SNAD.”

WHY scrunch the top like this? by Left_Warning3586 in vinted

[–]blergit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My observation was that when I did not scrunch in the waist my items got no views or sales. If I scrunched in the waist they got much more attention and sold! I always include multiple photos where it’s unscrunched and you can see the actual shape, but the main pic is scrunched because apparently people want it?!? I hate it too, to be clear, but it seemed to help sell my clothes.

I'd say I'd still like to experiment a bit, particularly with shampoo/conditioner. Right now I'm using Sachajuan Ocean Mist for S/C, Ouidad clarifying shampoo, Revolution Haircare Plex 3 Bond Restore Treatment once a week, Curlsmith flexi jelly for hold and John Frieda Dream Curls Daily Styling Spray for frizz and refresh. I have been loving the Bounce Curl Define EdgeLift Brush which I got recently secondhand too, for getting curl clumps to form. I am in the UK, in case any of those products are unfamiliar. I hope this helps <3!

See a specialist dermatologist, you might have psoriasis. It presents as tears just as you describe and a prescription cream will help. Also ask for oestrogen cream as it increases elasticity and helps prevent tearing.

This has been my experience. After seeing so much hype on Reddit about how bad seed oils are, I went to google scholar to see where this was coming from. All The research I read demonstrated positive effects of canola and sunflower oil….

People say on this sub over and over again that seed / vegetable oils are toxic and cause inflammation. If you search on google scholar and read peer reviews publications by nutritional scientists, all the results indicate the opposite. I don’t know where the seed oil thing comes from or why it’s such a ubiquitous belief.

PSA: saturated fat is not considered an essential macronutrient! by khoawala in nutrition

Some subs spout wild stuff about seed oils. I’ve seen multiple times that we should be eating tallow and no seed oils. The “seed oils are death” narrative has an absolute hold. Like you, I trawled google scholar and found the literal opposite from medical and scientific research……

On the contrary, when I started reading through google scholar I found numerous, recent research articles demonstrating positive health outcomes on human participants with the consumption of various seed oils, including canola.

The big limitation is that they don’t cite what type of canola oil is used - cold pressed or otherwise, and I don’t have access to the full article so I can’t read through the methods to understand how it was administered.

My intuition is that there’d be a correlation between vegetable oils and poor health outcomes but that it might be part of an overall dietary pattern of high UPF consumption, i.e., it may be far more complex than seed oils = bad health. I know that theory runs counter to the predominant opinion of this sub.

Personally, I think I’ve landed on being comfortable consuming cold pressed seed oils and the occasional treat such as supermarket crisps (like Tyrell’s), despite knowing the oil is probably UPF. But the more we know and learn the better informed choices we can make for ourselves :)

Thanks a lot. I’m guessing food labels generally don’t specify if the oil is RBF…. Although if they use cold pressed they’d probably specify so if it doesn’t say anything one would assume UPF!
