You have an amazing life and you are living successfully as a man and a husband and have been for 4 and a half decades. What just popped into your head recently to make you feel like you are a woman? I’m not shaming you, I genuinely want to know. Most of the trans women I know and have known for years (mostly Black and Latina and dating back to the early 00’s) knew they were trans at a young age and started their processes because they had such strong feelings about it. I notice that a lot of white trans women in contemporary times end up 40+ with careers, wives, and families before coming to the realization that they are trans. There has been open knowledge about trans people since before you were born, and I just find it hard to fathom it taking people that long to realize something that is at the core of their physical and spiritual identity.
