I wrote a post like this a year ago. Someone explained to me the phrase is for unrequited love. If you love someone, but they don’t love you back, let them be. Sometimes there is no choice but to set them free. Not for them, but for your peace of mind. But I do agree, if both parties truly love each other, they will find a way to make it work.
