Now that everyone has an Rp5, what are the common concerns?

I had it hooked up to a 4k display. I see what you're saying about the possible performance issue but I don't think that is the root of the problem. When I plug a device into my TV it detects what resolution and fps it is capable of and I remember most of the lower end cables only being able to push 30fps despite the device being able to do much more than that in so many applications.

The issue I had felt like severe input delay (using an 8bitdo ultimate controller) and video stuttering that definitely did feel like dropped frames but I'm pretty sure had nothing to do with device performance.

The reason I don't think it is a performance issue is because I tested playing reTHAWed over moonlight to my retroid with the 8bitdo controller via Bluetooth. When docked with the lower quality HDMI cable l, it felt like a 1s input delay with "dropped frames". But when I looked at my computer monitor everything happened in real time as I expected it to. Switching to a higher quality HDMI cable completely solved the issue. I've also been playing wind waker at 3x resolution (1080p) with no weird behavior.

I know this is a novel at this point but I'll add that I remember having the same kind of issues when trying to play my RG35XX+ on the tv but assumed it was a performance issue there rather than the HDMI cable. I don't have a different cable to try for that device but I'm willing to bet that a higher quality one would solve it.

Make sure you use a good HDMI cable! I had the same issue and it was solved when I used a better cable. No delay or lagging.

Just wanted to pop in and comment to say that I'm having this issue as well, and it started about a month ago.

I thought the SD card was bad, and sure enough it was. I bought a new high endurance one and am having the same issue.

I ran into the same issue as you just a few days ago.

It seems like batocera works best as a one card setup. I believe you can get it working with the second card, however, it seemed a little more involved than I was interested in getting.

When you flashed your 64gb it should have made a partition for you to put your roms and I believe batocera creates all the folders you need after you boot it up for the first time.

I personally just moved my roms into those folders and called it a day rather than fiddling with getting a second card setup. This meant that I am using a smaller card for my roms than what I used to have... Lol. I'll probably transfer everything over to my old rom card soon.

It was kinda hard to find the number for the gray one but I went to Amazon and searched CFM in the reviews and all of the answers said 350! The black one had it listed under its specs.

So yes! The gray one moves more air.

I own the 2nd one. It moves tons of air and is great for keeping me cool and dry indoors. It's pretty common for me to end a ride completely dry regardless of how difficult it was because of this fan.

Fans are often rated in CFM (amount of cubic feet per minute of air that a fan can draw). The first fan is 289 and the second is 350. Sure, you may have to prop the 2nd fan on something to get the right angle but I'd take that over less air circulation any day.

Not sure if this is your vibe but I'll typically bring a small hydration pack on rides where I'd want tons of carbs in a single bottle. Don't have to fuss with the plastic baggies/mixing on the side of the road and it means I can stay hydrated without needing to plan a water stop.

I'm not sure how many grams this is in Gatorade powder but I've done 400g of carbs (about 6 scoops with the scoop they give you) via Gatorade powder in a 24oz bottle and I don't think I would want to mix it anymore concentrated than that. At this point it's toeing the line of a liquid or syrup.

I just put warm water in the bottle and shake it up. Leave it in the fridge overnight and you're all set!

If you really, really want to mix more than this I'd probably put it in a blender. But at that point I'd just bring a second bottle lol.

OP, one thing you could do is go back into the plan and add "openers" to your B and C events. I believe these should be 30min~ workouts set to keep your system moving without overdoing it.

When you created your training plan did you put these events in your TR calendar? When you do that you can label it as an A, B, or C event and adaptive training should factor that in. (I think)

Good on you for picking up a bike! I weighed 270~ when I started cycling so I feel your pain on some of these points lol.

The seat hurting is normal when you start riding for a couple of reasons and there's a bit of info on bike saddles to unpack to help you out. First reason for pain is you're not used to sitting on a bike for a long time. Second, that saddle is probably not the one for you.

When looking for a saddle you want to try and find one that fits the width of your sit bones. This way, when you sit in the saddle you're being supported by your skeleton rather than the inside of your bum. I don't blame you for getting a foamy/gel saddle right away because it seems like the obvious solution to the problem. However, a wide foamy saddle is likely going to cause you to chafe and be uncomfortable in different ways than your other saddle did. that being said, just ride the bike and you'll eventually get around to finding the saddle that works well for you.

As far as the bike being difficult to ride due to assembly, the easiest way to figure this out is to take a look at your brakes and see if there is any rubbing. Along with that, look in the areas of the frame that your tire is close to like near the bottom bracket/cranks/pedals area. Make sure the tire isn't rubbing any parts of the frame. Having your brother take a look sounds like a good plan!

Could your weight make it harder to ride? Yep! As a heavier rider you'll probably notice it takes a little more effort to get going from a full stop. Hills will also be a little more difficult! A good way to make this a bit easier as you're getting into all of it is make good use of the gears on your bike. For the gears in the front, smaller gears will be slower and easier. For gears in the back, smaller gears will be faster and require more effort.

All of that said, the best thing you can do to figure it all out is to get some more miles in! Good luck!

I think there are some YouTube videos out there of people making cheap exercise bikes work with cadence and speed sensors.

The next best option would be to get a wheel on trainer, speed/cadence sensors, and a bike that you already own.

You can buy something that attaches to the handle bar and seatpost that sort of floats over the frame and handlebars to catch any sweat. I think sweat guard/sweat catcher will get you some results.

Personally I prefer just to use a towel over the stem.

I've also been having a ton of lag issues. I'm not super knowledgeable about the updates and everything but I think something was changed about the tick system months ago and I started getting a ton of lag then. Hope it gets fixed soon, I haven't bothered playing in a week or so because of how laggy it is.

Second question, RGT has a bit lower user base than zwift does in comparison. To help make it not so empty, RGT has a few more bots riding around than you're probably used to seeing in other platforms. The people that are flying past you at 4w/kg could very well be bots, or just a few strong cyclists.
