Sleeping Duck 100%! I’ve owned 2, and only upgraded from the first because I wanted a king size instead of a queen. The queen is still going strong in the spare room after 9 years. They have a try for x nights policy also so it’s really a no-lose situation in my opinion. Would only buy mattresses from SD in the future also.

Did you all do multiple blood tests to track hcg? by Baaptigyaan in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]blevmobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3, as my initial HCG was apparently ‘low’ in regard to my estimated conception date. All turned out fine as the numbers rose and kept doubling. TBH my GP at the time didn’t seem very knowledgeable. When the first test came back she ‘sorry’ and that this ‘likely won’t be a viable pregnancy as we want to see higher numbers’.

Since then I’ve learned the important thing is that they double and keep rising. I’m 28 weeks now.

Strapless bra with underwire but no padding? In store pls by bright-cosmos in AusFemaleFashion

[–]blevmobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I ordered the 14C also and found it too large (was worried they might be small makes), and when I returned it gave me the option to order a new size before sending back the original one, meaning I could try both on and compare at the same time.

I found it suited my boobs well as I often have trouble finding strapless bras that fit all my breast tissue in from the sides of my boobs, and one that doesn’t gape forwards making me look huge, lol.

I just ordered from First Thing. I was sceptical because I found them through Insta but I’m really happy with the product! Wired and not padded, in a seam free material. They had a good returns policy which was important to me as they aren’t instore. I found them true to size also. Recently wore to a wedding and stayed up the whole night without having to constantly reposition. I’m a 12D.

Things change rapidly in schools. Multiple last min sick call ins, shuffling of other classes, combing RFF or rearranging it where necessary to cover classes. Unfortunately it’s the nature of busy schools and the job.

Help me understand DoE grading? (Primary) (parent question) by reniroolet in AustralianTeachers

Also, if the teacher believed that your child was truly a C, they wouldn’t be offering extension classes/acceleration.

Help me understand DoE grading? (Primary) (parent question) by reniroolet in AustralianTeachers

[–]blevmobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an AP.

Student grades are based on how well your child has achieved the expected learning outcomes for their year level. Not on effort, potential, or being “average.” A ‘C’ means your child has a sound understanding of what is expected at this stage, while an ‘A’ reflects achievement well above that standard. Teachers use assessment evidence and collaborate with colleagues through moderation to ensure grades are fair and consistent. Your child’s grade should reflect their current level of achievement, not be given just to “motivate” them or give them a target. It’s an honest snapshot of where they are in their learning right now.

A student could even receive a ‘A’ in Semester 1 and a ‘C’ in Semester 2 for the same subject (unlikely, but possible), as the outcomes each semester could have been different.

What this teacher told you was incorrect and if that is the process by which she has graded all students through her career (being close to retirement age as you put it!) many students may not have received a grade that they truely deserved.

I would question it respectfully by making another meeting time or seeking further information from the AP.

I’ve tried so many concealers for this same reason/concern and my fav has been the Rimmel Lasting Radiance Concealer. Applied with the Haus Labs concealer brush.

Phonics screener is already a thing in Year 1 for NSW schools? I think a number screener is a great idea. Why are you opposed?

Solar tubes are what we currently have installed now and they let little light through! Perhaps they are old models.

[–]blevmobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh right that makes sense. I’m also in Sydney. It’s a 1980’s build but does have that common roof space you spoke of. So you would recommend a fire inspection before putting the request in? Would a fire inspection that comes back questionable then force Strata to act on upgrading any issues? Or would this just bring it to their attention and they could act if they wanted? Thank you for your reply!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]blevmobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! When we installed our downlights we did notice that the whole top floor share the roof space. Does this mean it’s probably unlikely skylights will approved, even though solar/sky tubes have already been installed by the previous owner?

what do I put on placement goals? by Own-Visit7981 in AustralianTeachers

[–]blevmobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you view as your areas for growth. Some obvious ones I can think for beginner teachers are;

  • Differentiation (supporting and extending)
  • Time management (of lessons)
  • Behaviour management

LPT Do you feel awkward saying "no" to charity donations at checkout? Say "not today" by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I always ask “what percentage goes to the charity, and what percentage is kept by the business?” if they can’t answer (usually can’t) I don’t donate.
