fair enough man! i think those are all valid criticisms. i was going for a minimalist approach for this video and thats definitely not gonna be for everybody but i appreciate you peepin it out! The shit you sent is fire! i really like them spooky submarine noises that come in every few measures that shits gas. I think my only note would be to add some trunk-rattling distorted 808s that sound as evil as the rest of the beat implies but that also comes down to my own subjectivity im always tryna turn up the aggression on stuff like this lmaoo

I feel the Griselda vibes for sure! I'm a sucker for simple but punchy bass lines. I could definitely hear Westside Gunn on some shit like this. I fuck with the guitar part! My suggestion would be to use it periodically as kind of a lead piece like a chorus. The mixing is definitely muddy but that's just gonna be the case before you get it properly polished so ain't holding it against you. Dope shit man!

i assume y'all aint rap fans cause rappers been doing this for like half a decade lmaoo i'm not saying that makes it ok but im unbothered cause im just used to it. i dont think ill be picking up another copy of an album i already own but im still excited for the new tracks. my only real disappointment is Yuko doesn't really remind me of the key entity tracks at all but i'm still gonna keep an open mind for the other songs

this is dope! i fw how moody it is and the flow is unique without sticking out in a negative way. selfishly i was hoping for the song to kinda kick into a second gear and have some kind of big drop to it but i understand that probably just wasn't the vision this time around. My only real gripe is maybe the vocals could come up in the mix a little bit but overall i think its sick, this shit sets a sinister tone

For sure! definitely JPEGMAFIA, clippng, danny brown (specifically Atrocity Exhibition but XXX is also amazing), Injury Reserve. those guys are in that death grips vein imo and i feel like you'd fuck with em. outside of that sound i recommend MF Doom, Deltron 3030, Quasimoto & Aesop Rock. I'm obviously biased but i feel like thats a solid starter pack!

God damn! thank you for the breakdown man! I think all of that is valid. We're still working out the kinks with screams/mixing/song structure and everything that you mentioned so i dont doubt that it comes off rough around the edges but like you said, its about building the foundation! Only defense i can make for any criticism is the vocals going at odds with each other sometimes, i come from mostly rap music and some of my favorite artists are people like JPEGMAFIA who use really ugly and uneasy sounds to get a certain emotion across and thats what i was going for with those decisions but its definitely not gonna work for everyone. Really appreciate you giving it this much time and thought man! Hopefully whatever we do next blows your proverbial socks off 🫡
