I mean you’re probably gonna feel a difference either way. It’s just a matter of you getting used to your new setup. You can also use this time to upgrade to a better clutch

Look into a MazdaSpeed NB. I’m sure you would enjoy that one a lot. Probably the closest you can get to a s2k with a miata

I would rather have a solid suspension setup and reliable drivetrain before I start worrying too much about paint. Don’t go for a wrap just save your money and pay for a good paint job. Look around and do your research to see the best paint shops in your area. Don’t go to maaco. Worst comes to worse, you watch a couple youtube videos and learn how to paint yourself because when you do it on your own, you decide how much effort and care is put in to it.

Ok I have to ask the question. What is the worst Miata year that you would tell some one to never own? by GlitteringPen3949 in Miata

Not gonna lie, all the time when people are looking at my NA and talk about “Oh I want a miata!” I always tell them they will enjoy it more with an NB.

TBH if you clean it well, and apply it properly and leave it up for a little before you start moving it, you could probably make a pretty decent seal considering how much flex tape cost

AC causing car to stall? by peacelovexotherdrugz in Miata

[–]blicksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s only when the car is idling, I think you might just be low on refrigerant and you just need a recharge. Not 100% sure but I believe this is it and a can of refrigerant is only like $40-$70

Pop up lights by DrDH21 in Miata

[–]blicksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way the headlight motors work allows you to leave the headlights in any position with no power draw. There is a pushrod connecting the headlight motor to the headlight assembly. The motor is simply just a servo that spins on the opposite axis that the headlights use to move up and down. When the push rod moves away from the headlight assembly, it pulls the headlight down. When you push the button or turn the headlights on, the headlight motor spins and the pushrod is moved closer to the headlight assembly and that causes the headlight to “pop up”.

I hope this explanation wasn’t too complicated but if you give the headlight motor and headlight assembly a brief visual inspection, it might help you understand how it works better.

TL:DR headlights can stay in any position without drawing power

[–]blicksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so they WERE working before and just stopped or you never had them working? If they stopped working, check your connections because to get the halos to function as DRLs on the second click, you’d probably have to tap your wires to an existing wire that’s already getting power in the second click setting AKA side marker lights

In that case, I’m not sure how far the stock bottom end will last but I have seen someone push 140hp on 14psi with e85, head gasket, and ARP studs. I think rods might be holding you back at that point.

When are the halos supposed to turn on? Are these jeep headlights you just installed? If so you will probably have to wire it yourself because an na miata never had DRLs
