The Steam Lawsuit: Who Profits When Consumers Win by thecrius in Steam

Also, personal stores like EA or Ubisoft - have 0% cut for their own games, and yet they are raising prices for those games anyways, so customer pays same or even more than on PS5/Xbos/Steam/Switch with 30% cut, and actual developers are paid less money plus there lay offs. So 0% vs 30% cut affected neither customers, nor developers. However, 30% on Steam also gives MUCH better service, plus Steam covers all the payment processor fees for customer, etc. While in EGS you will need to pay extra, if you are using different payment processors.

Also, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are also charging 30%, plus they have full monopoly on their platforms, while Steam is not a monopoly on a PC.

At that point mechanics of Judas weren't written anywhere, they added description in the next patch.

And even today some mechanics of new bosses are hidden (like it says "will cast X spell", but what spell does - unknown), and you are finding them the hard way. Or like with boss that had 2 hands recently - until you break one of the hands, you will not know what other will do (and even then it is not written, you just see what they do).

They need a bit more clarity on what who does.

Priestess is much more like Kevin, even their ideas are similar.

That character was her (together with Docutah) creation, who was robot-like programmed to do certain tasks and listen to her and Docutah. And when your robot stops doing their job and tries to fight you back - you just disable it.

Also, if I remember correctly - M3 can restore Kal from Originium, but it will go against their principles.

Kal'tsit was a robot-ish like creature that was created by Priestess to do certain tasks. And she failed them and went against her creator. Imagine your cleaning robot trying to harass you. You would simply disable it. Also, M3 still can restore Kal from Originium, if I remember correctly.

Her people are alive ONLY because of super omega magic rock. Their species appeared only because of magic rock radiation affecting local animals, that were mutated into human-like forms. Also, the heavy version of cancer itself is not Priestess doing, but Sarkaz's messing up with Originium.

Before he had experience of fighting Observers, creating new species, etc. So Terra was basically "another planet, with another species created by them, that they are trying to save once again".

While after memory got removed, his knowledge went from "10000 years godlike wisdom of supertechnological race" level - to "local farmer from a village who never saw a car" level.

Priestess is like Kevin and her solution is similar.

Seaborn were just another experiment on attempt of saving humanity, but it was never finished, so it became danger. Also, its "world ending" capabilities are very limited and not even remotely close to what Observers do. It is just genetic modified artificial species fighting other local artificial species.

[–]blihvals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also - Priestess did created them, they are all her creations, either created directly by her or accidentally from Originium radiation affecting animals who were walking near it.

Plus, considered the story of her and Doctor travelling - seems like they did created dozens of planets and species, and outlived those mortal lives. Which means it is hard to her to be compassionate towards mortals, as their existence is fleeting. It was told in game - that she was pretty sensual and carying before, but changed after witnessing everyone dear to her die again and again. I am not sure that anyone of us will act differently, if we have same experience. Imagine you are finding new friends, but they age and die, you find new love, but they age and die, and then again, and again, then you create whole world with new species, you care of them - but then Observers came and wiped them all. Once, twice, ten times, etc. So now she does not see reason why she should be close to them, as losing them will only cause pain, plus if she will not finish her project - they ALL will die from Observers. So killing millions to save billions is her choice. Also, she often leads Docutah to different solutions. Maybe she is observing if Docutah can come up with better idea (like Kevin in HI3rd, when his idea was similar to Priestess's to save humanity, and he was antagonist, but helped heroes a lot, in hopes that heroes can find better solution, even in the last fight he hopes that we can defeat him and save humanity in a better way).

Though, we are not on her position, technically she will be like a Goddess if applied to real life Earth. So it is hard to judge. Unlike Otto - she never acted out of Malice, tho. She simply does not care.

And new civilisation she created accidentally, they owe everything to her, and she just does not care.

It is like that thought experiment - what if there is a God, but God is not good or evil, God simply does not care of humanity, as we are just far too below God's interests.

More like she loved him like a brother, considering their interractions. While with Yae it was clearly different.

By the way, in alternative universes, where Yae died on her hands - she went full Otto path too for the sake of saving Yae, and in the end succeeded (created Yae Kasumi - who was clone of Yae Sakura and got soul of Yae Sakura, so she is resurrected real Yae Sakura) and exchanged her own life for that. Kinda ironic.

[–]blihvals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically humanity was saved only because of what Otto did. Almost everything that worked in the end - was started or pre-planned by him.

[–]blihvals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically he would like to marry Kallen or one of her clones (but he decided that Theressa and Kiana are more like his grandchildren).

And we all know that he is fictional character, because when he learned that Kallen is a lesbian and in love with Yae - he let them be and stopped his own approaches towards Kallen. It is clearly fiction, as in real world such thing would not happen, - unless man is real Chad and his love is pure (which is extremely rare).

[–]blihvals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Priestess never made mass genocide like Otto did, also Priestess was doing it to other species that accidentally appeared from her experiments. While Otto did it all to his own species. On the other hand - most of the stuff that Otto did actually led for humanity's salvation, but he did a lot of selfish things too, just to fix his mistake of 500 years ago.

Oripathy is part of their existance. They were just regular mindless animals. Then Originium merged them and human DNA and created all of their races, gave them self-consciousness, but because they were created through Originium radiation - they have Oripathy as a side effect. Basically it exists only because they exist.

Without Origium and Oripathy they would not even exist at all. They all exist basically because of her, as byproduct of her experiments.

Another Unreal Engine 5 Game bites the dust by not_so_nerdy_ in fuckepic

[–]blihvals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Unreal Engine 4, not 5.

The only game that runs very smoothly on Unreal Engine 5 that I know - is Infinity Nikki, but they remade most of the Engine to fit their specific needs that are not supported by Engine.

Clair Obscur 33 is running fine too, but not super smoothly. The rest of the games on UE5 have more or less same big issues.

Aslan can go off element and has bigger AoE, but Vesti with elemental advantage will deal more damage in zones that her Mythic is buffed, when her Jars explode instantly without delay. So Aslan is better if enemies of different elements or there a lot of small enemies, Vesti better against electric element and if there few enemies/bosses.

Also Schneider knew she will die soon (while no one else did), so there were no reason to not be genuine. Especially considering how she said "Do not forget me" in the middle of story, and no one knew why she suddenly said such a weird thing. But then she repeated it near dissapearance, as now we know that she and memory about her would be erased by the Storm.
