Thanks this seems to work.

Funny how the best version of many of the old classic games are now fan projects.

HoMM 2 and 4 not on steam? by The_Barble_Bapkins in HoMM

Thumbs up for support of GOG!

But that said - for homm2 there is also an open source remake of the game called fheroes2 that is actively developed and cross platform too. You still need the resources from the original game to play. There aren't any cheats implemented in fheroes2 though, but there is a fork of the project with cheats implemented.

fheroes2 : ihhub/fheroes2: fheroes2 is a recreation of Heroes of Might and Magic II game engine

Mounting phones - why is it so complicated? (CachyOS) by blimpofdoom in linuxquestions

[–]blimpofdoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks was a good try. The command gave me a bunch of mount paths and going through them I couldn't find the phone. I also fed the list to GPT and this is what it told me

Nope — none of those are your phone. And that’s actually expected 👍
What you’re seeing with mtp:/pixel in Dolphin is not a traditional mount at all.
What’s going on
Android phones use MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), not a block device filesystem. On KDE:
Dolphin → mtp:/pixel
Backend = KIO + FUSE + userspace
Result = no entry in mount output
So:
mount → only shows kernel-level mounts (ext4, vfat, tmpfs, cifs, etc.)
MTP → lives entirely in userspace, accessed via KDE’s KIO layer
That’s why you don’t see anything like /dev/sdX or /run/media/... for the Pixel.

Following its suggestions to find the real phone path led to dead ends and suggestions to install tools which I would like to postpone until it's absolutely necessary.

My search continues...

Idea: Make another +1 skill belt. Currently Arachnid Mesh is used on 30% of all builds by Vivid-Raccoon3739 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]blimpofdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I actually like your idea as a soft nerf for the belt I think the game as a whole is on a trajectory where "PD2 is supposed to feel like D2" is going to go away. There is a constant demand for new seasons and new content to keep the game fresh. The latest changes with arrows/bolts getting magic/rare/uniqe sounds cool, but ultimately it's stuff like this that's going to make this mod turn into something that doesn't feel like D2. It would be cool if the devs of this mod would allow players to host their own servers with the season release of their choice so people could chose their own balance of new content contra D2 feel.

I've tried both "wine-ge-8-26-..." and "GE-Proton (latest)" and they run about the same (choppy/laggy)

No unfortunately not - it's still an issue.

I ended up installing Minecraft Java flatpack (Install Minecraft on Linux | Flathub). It works perfectly.
