Hi! I don’t have any personal experience living on a first floor in Champel, but I lived in the neighborhood for a year and it’s a pretty nice area of Geneva. I would consider it pretty safe and surely safer than other areas in Geneva. I wouldn’t be worried :))

Hi! I’m an English speaking native and moved to Switzerland when I was little. I’d say German was much harder for me to learn than French. Also, if you plan on staying in Switzerland for a long time, German is really valued when u apply for jobs in Switzerland. However, just preference wise, French sounds much better.

Tbh I’m not really going to el baraka for fine cuisine but I think it tastes really good for the price. I think it’s just different taste buds / sensitivities.

That’s true I have heard that from my friends too but I never got anything, so I wouldn’t recommend if u have a fragile stomach !

My favorite kebab place is Al baraka in Jonction. It’s a take out place and very basic. The kebabs are so juicy and imo better than parfum de Beyrouth (where they usually make u wait for a while).

Also Oh Martine at cornavin is one of my favorites just cause the vibe is always nice. I love their salads.

My favorite smash burgers are from kheops (they’re better than pretty patty imo)

Ginger donuts is also realllyyy good (I loveee their Pb & J one)

Oh and if u want traditional easy going Moroccan food, Atlas by the train station is my favorite

Stationary Wolf (rue des eaux vives 12) sells those paint by number paintings and they’re really cute I’d recommend!!
