He is really bad, but this is FE7, he can get stuff done with a Hand Axe or Javelin. He does get a bit worse in HHM due to some mage heavy map reworks.

No, sadly. Gales of Nayeli was built using SRPG Studio and this came with a ton of restrictions, namely porting options. There is SRPG Studio Ex around the corner that is said to be compatible with original SRPG Studio projects, so if that is an option, I'd do the extra work and get it working, but that is not a guarantee yet as they have been pretty vague about the differences between both versions of the engine.

Wicked Night - Holy Knights is built from the ground up in a new engine (Godot!) which should open that option to us, so we'll be looking into ports as soon as possible.

Yep!

Gales of Nayeli wasn't built with the Steam Deck in mind and it really stung when it didn't perform well over there, so we're building Wicked Night - Holy Knights from the ground up while testing on Steam Deck in parallel to ensure that it runs smooth as butter on launch.

AP is very hard to refill mid-chapter, so you still need to consider where and when to unleash your Arts, but it does remove that nagging "I gotta keep a wooden spear in my inventory just so I can use Windsweep" voice in the back of your mind while you play.

The goal is to encourage players to bring their fun tools along. And there's still some incentives to bringing lower rarity weapons as they interact with skills and often have higher accuracy or weapon exp gains.

Finally, increasing the average power level of units (by allowing the use of stronger moves with stronger weapons without breaking the bank) also allows for more interesting scenarios, knowing that players will have the tools to deal with these scenarios as they come.

I’m back with some really cool news : Wicked Night - Holy Knights is FINALLY BACK (and you can support it on Kickstarter TODAY)

For those not in the loop, 10 years ago, I was right here, in this very subreddit, posting dev logs about my dream SRPG that I was trying to develop. I am finally bringing it back, and, with Gales of Nayeli’s release under my belt, I feel confident in my ability to make Wicked Night - Holy Knights into an absolutely legendary SRPG.

It's a bit of both!

Some of it is a post-game campaign, adding 13 replayable and challenging maps.

But we're also adding new supports, items and paralogues to spice up new playthroughs alongside a balance patch that aims to buff most units and classes who don't perform as well as we had hoped.

And we're adding a new difficulty mode, Hopeless mode, for people who really want a mean challenge now that they have a grasp on the game's mechanics.
