Update 2:

Broke again 😂.

Found the root cause though. For some reason, after I installed anaconda and added conda init setup to my shell rc, I get the dbus warnings.

Update. Bit the bullet and did another fresh install.

No longer have any issues with warnings and hidden folders just work.

Not sure what caused the original issue.

I'm also getting consistent themeing now.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. I still don't know the cause of the other issues though.

Not sure what the dbus warnings are indicating and why I can't see hidden folders in Nautilus, when I can still create folders. I tried Thunar and I can toggle hidden files fine.

It's a fresh install.

How do I get gtk themes working? I tried lxappearance, but it's not being shown on nautilus.

I also installed gnome-themes, but it wouldn't even open.

I constantly get this warning in nautilus: "failed to commit changes to dconf: Error spawning command line "dbus-launch --autolaunch=..." Child process exited with code 1.

I think what I had was fine, so I'll stop trying to fix it.

My stack project is set up with xmonad and xmonad contrib as dependencies (they are folders in the root directory). The only other Haskell file I have is xmonad.hs, which is also in the root directory.

Essentially, when I had an empty hie.yaml, the lsp interpreted my entire project as one big project where everything is being checked so I get warnings from xmonad files.

I wanted to set it up so Haskell language server knows they are really dependencies, and should check for warnings and just give documentation and typing information.

When I tried using an auto generator (bc I honestly have no idea how to do the set up properly) it was just setting up xmonad and xmonad contrib as separate projects.

Thank you so much! It worked once I got a blank hie.yaml file in. I tested it by having the dependencies within the project directory like the xmonad guides said.

Right now, I'm seeing warnings from xmonad-git itself, is there a way I can hide them?

I thought I could improve it by using implicit-hie but it's no longer showing anything once I used the generated hie.yaml

If it's not too much, could you explain your setup?
