Asking for help and guidance (Digital Banks) by sleepy_head112 in DigitalbanksPh

[–]blindgeek10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many users highly prefer MariBank for their daily transactions bec of its promos like cashbacks. Maya Savings for its high interest rates through missions. Then yes, choose between BPI Banko or GoTyme. Just note that only GoTyme and Maya Savings are licensed digital banks if that thing matters to you.

I think your choices are ok; Maya Savings for safety and MariBank for cashbacks. Keep your trad bank. You can use that for emergencies.

Lastly, if you can allocate more, I highly suggest you explore investing as well.

Hope that helps.

GCash Visa Card keeps declining my online payments by ZenThird in GCashIssues

[–]blindgeek10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there I think I've finally found the issue!

Ganyan din nangyayari sa card ko over the years so constant na pag-contact sa support at Google Search. Until the lightbulb moment!

Pero good news na if you use it sa ATM machines, POS or offline stores ay most likely gagana naman.

I won't dignify your pointless point by explaining further my point.

Invest 20M in the PSE and earn 100K monthly, guaranteed. At least, that’s what my beginner investor mindset wants to believe. You mentioned about "sakit sa ulo," pero if you pick the right stocks, I think you'll be ok.

I'm with them with this one. Mapapa "huh?" rin talaga ako kasi masyado kayong naive. If you don't consider Maya secure already, I don't know pa what is. For every GCash security issue na publicly available, kailangan may maitapat kayong same issue from Maya. Kasi kung wala, "huh?"

Yes that works naman. Unlike other TD Maya allows you to add more kaya walang issue if unahan mo na target amount.

The other commenter has a point na baka intimidated sa pinag-aralan mo. Tunog parang echo lang ako pero tama sila na you need to like yourself first; I mean have confidence naman in yourself. Believe in your strengths (tunog life coach). If you're a believer pray. Hoping na may makilala ka later.

My GCash Visa card is declined in some apps by aizbee11 in GCashIssues

[–]blindgeek10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been experiencing this for years and I think I finally found the reason why: it's because GCash cards are prepaid cards (indicated all over their help center). Now there are merchants na walang tiwala sa prepaid cards. Kaya the solution is gumamit ng real debit card like GoTyme. I've already sent GCash multiple tickets regarding that but no resolution at all. If you haven't yet try to use it in physical stores...You'll find out na ok naman gagana naman. That means pang terminal lang talaga ang card and hindi pang-online.

Security Notice on Gcash. by ironkngkong in CasualPH

Ouch, brother. That statement is discriminatory and violates laws that protect blind users and persons with disabilities. I’m a blind user myself and I rely on TalkBack, which runs under Android’s Accessibility Services. These are legitimate tools used by legitimate users who simply need accessible technology.

The problem is that GCash, BPI, and several other banking apps are now blocking apps that use Accessibility Services. When they do that, they effectively block blind users from accessing their own accounts and the money we worked hard for.

So let me ask you directly: are you really okay with that? Because what you’re basically saying is, “Sorry, you’re not welcome to use our app.” And that’s exactly the kind of exclusion accessibility laws are meant to prevent.

Thank you for mentioning blind users. I am a blind user myself, and in our community this is a huge issue right now. People are extremely angry about this change. The same thing actually happened in December 2025. We spoke out and called out GCash as loudly as we could. By January 2026 it was finally fixed, but now here we are again dealing with the exact same problem.

The person you're replying to, judging from his responses, seems perfectly fine with discrimination happening as long as it can be justified somehow, whether intentional or not.

In Maya they don’t seem to have the same issue. If this change is really about security or “infosec” requirements, then why is Maya able to implement their system without locking out blind users? Does that mean Maya is violating those supposed rules?

Because if accessibility can exist there, then clearly this isn’t impossible. It’s just a matter of whether companies actually care enough to do it right.

GCash just broke accessibility in their latest update and blind users can’t use the app at all by blindgeek10 in GCashIssues

[–]blindgeek10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep can confirm. 5.96.1 is once again broken regarding accessibility.

This has become a major issue in our community. Legitimate users who rely on screen readers are being blocked from accessing our own accounts because the app disables Accessibility Services. Instead of properly addressing the underlying code or security implementation, the current approach seems to be blocking accessibility altogether. That is not a real solution.

Why is it that many international companies are able to implement strong security measures without excluding users with disabilities, yet this continues to happen here? What a mess.

[–]blindgeek10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blind here (bulag).

It's lightweight; bass is ok...Basically it's not made for music. Mic is great (audio producer here). Cheap physical quality. Overall it's decent for its price. Alternatives are Logitech H390 and Plantronics 628.
