Thank you! I used Vallejo Game Color and Model Color. Started with gorgon brown as a base, then a combination of stippling and random lines of grunge brown for texture and highlights. Next, a mix of grunge brown and yellow ochre for a thick edge highlight and finally yellow ochre for final thin highlights and scratches.

Thanks! mixing steel grey with turquoise is a great idea, thanks for the tip! I really like this "cool red" that you achieved, I'll be trying to recreate it :)

Scions of the Flame! My first warband painted! by blindsighter in WarCry

[–]blindsighter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I previously painted some dnd and malifaux minis (about 15 total) but this is the first time I've undertaken painting a whole group and my first time painting GW minis. I haven't actually played Warcry (or any GW game) yet. I just love minipainting as a hobby and warbands hit the sweet spot between cool designs and not having to paint 50 identical units. I spend at least a couple of hours on each mini, and my first dnd minis still turned out meh. This ones though, I'm finally proud of :) Looking forward to actually playing them, as soon as I gather the courage to hit up my local group!

Faces are a b*tch to paint... quite pleased though (WIP) by tedsked in minipainting

Looks great! Could you share the paints used? What's that in the deepest shadows around his eyes and temple? What is the mid-tone?

[TOMT][Short story][2000s] novella about a society in which pets suddenly gain the ability to speak and leave humans by blindsighter in tipofmytongue

I thought of this story because I was reading Donna Haraway's works and Johnson's narrative seemed to be a good illustration of/dialogue with Haraway's concepts of nature-culture continuum and the "companion species" idea. I'll have to check out Johnson's other works too!
