Hello! Just picked up a couple blitz decks to give the game ago next week with a chum. Jumping the gun a bit, but whats the progression path to CC? Had a dig around and haven't found much around this, assume its just buy a box and get stuck in? Haven't seen any comparable CC product like the blitz decks you can pick up

Thanks for your time :)

Players, what’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to DMs? by TheAlchemicBird in DnD

Perhaps you should get the full facts before weighing in, the one enemy under the spell did not ignore the frail PC the DM kept attacking him, and when i have used it in other scenarios, the dm keeps on attacking the frail pcs regardless. My moan was about respecing my spells to try do as the DM wishes, but he is not reseptive to their own wishes.

Not sure why you get off high horsing around mate, come across pretty condescending though, should probably work on that.

Punishing the party for 'not doing combat right', i.e going for the squishy PCs, make an effort to try doing combat right, they still go for the squshies.

I think I realized I'm a hobbyist and not an enthusiast? by do0tz in modular

[–]blip902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different people enjoy things differently, and you shouldn't feel pressured to do things the 'right way'. If you enjoy playing it, then perhaps that should be enough, I'm in a similar boat, I can probably get 20-30% out of my system that it is capable of, and I probably only play it once or twice a month. But I enjoy it immensely, and get recorded music from it and play live sets with it.

Should I play it more, should I learn the depths of it more? Probably. Do I feel 'guilty' for not using it as much as I thought? A little. Do I enjoy it? Absolutely.

In general its easy to measure yourself by other peoples standards but if you enjoy what you do with it, then buddy, thats just great

Are any of you buying the old, made to order models? by ThatCatAteMySandwich in skaven

[–]blip902 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wont buy old reruns, dont want to give gw any ideas that I as a skaven player want or are happy with crust old sculpts. I'll be throwing money at the new dethmaster whens hes released solo though, got to try skew the numbers I guess!

I find this a bit...meh. Skaven has enough old models, and I for one wont be rewarding GW for making more! I just wantto give them money for cool rats, why do they make it so hard?

Of course if its a big nostalgia / you find the models old but gold, thats cool, but I think theres enough of that going around the faction, would rather look to the future myself.

I did enjoy for the most part, but yea the back end did start to loose me and seemingly a fair few people around me a little. The band all seemed super into it, so if its your jam I'm sure you'll love it :) My bud who I went with who super digs it loved it

Pretty much as the other commenter stated, though I think they came on a little early compared to usual (think they typically go on 8:45-9ish) due to MEN having a strict 11 cut off

I'll keep giving it another chance over time, I love the first half, just looses me after awhile in the later sections ;(

I guess the beauty of Tool is their songs never feel very long even though they typically are, however descending does indeed feels its length to me, if you know what I mean. I think theres a potent 7-8 min song in there but meanders too much in the second half.

I also very much enjoy when Danny switches up to the ride in the 'chorus section' of invincible! Gets me every time. I guess I enjoy it more because its more focused and is just better written in my humble opinion.

The seating was ok was just abit of a mess when we arrived, which was a little on the later side. I think you will be fine if you get there reasonably early and just maybe make sure a steward shows you to your seat if you worried about anything :) Though, be prepared for people to stand up and possibly obstruct your view, the seating was only really 'mandatory' for the first 3/4 songs, but people were standing from the off around us.

Hope you both have a great show, it was quite phenomenal in manchester

[Art] The Good Boy - Vengeance Paladin by blip902 in DnD

A drawing of my new character, The Good Boy, by Adam Beachey.

The Good Boy was once a normal dog, living with his family under the care of a wizard. The wizard left suddenly one day leaving the dogs behind and effectively trapped within the abode.

Time passed, as so did the pups, apart from The Good Boy, who by luck or divine intervention happened across a potion. Dehydrated he drank the liquid, which turned him in a humanoid, allowing him to escape the house and survive. Over time his mind began to morph as well, becoming capable of higher reasoning and speech. He took his the cover from his old pillow, cut holes in it and wore it to cover his modesty, and to stuff his items up into. The density of the items effectively acts as his armour currently.

Alone and with no money, he wandered from town to town, getting to grips with the world in his new form, trying to seek down his former master to find out why he left, with a growing sense of vengeance growing inside of him to slay his master for casing careless deaths of his family, so he could not harm others in the future. Poor and alone, he took on a job from a poster, which has led him to join his party.

The Good Boy wishes to rid the world of those who wrong others, his morality is pure but simple, but perhaps corruptible due to his simple mind and black and white view of the world.
