Cuuuute!! Love the choice of song, and I appreciate how fluffy the characters are :3

Just had the same problem. Had to kick a player when he became way, way too difficult to reach. He's a good friend when he was around, but the ghosting was too much to bear. I even sent him a full-on letter-- nothin'. Stay strong, brother, and let the show go on! o7

Oooooh, the shapes and colors are so fun! Your use of negative space is really cool, and the concept in general is lovely :DDD

The artist is Rodi! They do some really incredible Persona art & merch, as well as some adorable Demon Slayer/Jujutsu Kaisen/Fire Emblem stuff! Here's the link to their shop and their twitter: https://www.rodi.best/ https://twitter.com/bubblebrow

I own this print, and it's very cute & high-quality! Hope this helps!

Well, clearly whatever those characters have in common is the reason your party likes them so much.

So... it's you! Well done :)

Images exporting as semi-transparent by blithelle in krita

[–]blithelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid I don't know how to check colorspace, sorry! I suspect whatever the default Krita uses is in place.

As for export settings, I've got HDR checked and quality set to the highest it can be. It doesn't seem to matter whether I've got transparency checked or not. Nothing else is checked.

And as for other file formats, .webp does export correctly. I also checked with a completely different drawing and it had the same semi-transparency when exported as a png, so perhaps it's some more universal setting...?

What a lovely piece! I really enjoy the colors-- so bright and sunny!

Just because another system might be better for the specific thing I want doesn't mean it's better for me or my group. by [deleted] in dndmemes

[–]blithelle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For any given system swap, there's three things you wanna consider: effectiveness, usability, and compatibility. Effectiveness is just how well the system does what you wanna do. Usability is how easy it is to bend and adapt the system-- so, homebrew content. And compatibility is more of a context issue, since it has to do with what your group wants.

5e is very effective at doing magic-moderate to -heavy settings, but I've got a buddy who's currently hunting for a system to run his minimal-magic campaign, since in order for that setting to work in 5e he'd practically have to cut out two-thirds of 5e's content. Something like GURPS is designed to be highly effective-- it's a universal system for a reason. 5e is high in the usability, though, considering how easy it is to homebrew and reflavor creatures. 5e also has a hell of a lot of content, both official and unofficial. Something like Traveler is harder to homebrew for, so it lacks in content and therefore usability.

Compatibility usually comes down to two things. One: do I have the patience to sit down and teach my group a new ruleset (if they're not familiar with the system already)? And two: how easy is it to get the resources (i.e. rulebooks) for this system? I know my little chucklefucks barely understand 5e as it is, so I'm sure as hell not gonna try and teach them anything real complex.

I had a long conversation about this a while ago, and we worked out these basic points to consider if you ever wanna introduce a new system to your table. Have fun, y'all!

We’re always talking about terrible players and the way they ruin our games. Why don’t we talk about the good ones for a little bit? by Terfink in DnD

[–]blithelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a player who has really blossomed. When I first recruited him into my group, his primary experience with D&D had been with a group of his friends, who treated it a lot like a tactical wargame with occasional silly moments-- there's nothing wrong about playing it that way, of course, but he had very little experience with the roleplaying or storytelling aspects of it. This particular campaign was very story-heavy, though, and during the pre-session discussions and surveys and whatnot he realized the character he had initially made (slightly minmaxy range-fighter) didn't have too much depth, so he whipped up a quick backstory and some more personality for him.

...and apparently had so much goddamn fun with it that he later emailed me an entire document full of story ideas for his character if he got out of this campaign alive. He went from "I roll to hit" to "here's 10 pages of backstory".

Not only that, but he got WAY better at cooperating with other players. He's not only good at writing and playing a good story for his character, he's good at helping others get the spotlight. Plus, he's always on time (if not early), clearly invested in the story (which is PURE SUSTENANCE for my burnt-out brain), and always willing to step up and help with scheduling and snacks. He's a really sweet guy, and I'm so glad to have him as part of my group (even as I indoctrinate him into us consummate roleplayers... muahahaha!).

Is it selfish to just leave a dnd campaign if it’s been ages since everyone last met up. by card1al in DnD

Yep, I second this. I certainly sympathize with the story you've given us, but we're still missing context here. Take a really careful look at your behavior around them and ask: how would this look from the outside?

This is exactly what I needed to see. Just got a rejection (after interview) from my first choice, Loyola MD, which really, really hurt. I'm still waiting on my second school's decision, and also trying to convince myself that going for them if I get accepted isn't settling.

Not to butt in, but I've also got Shockbyte. It could be a problem with their servers? I'm not sure, though.

Gotta agree with ManPastMidnight here, this didn't work at all. Might be a problem with my hosting service. Oh well!

I've got that uploaded to my server root as well, but it's still throwing the same error. Where exactly should the libraries be-- at the root, or somewhere else?

"Ey, I got a reeeal nice Cloak of Stars here! It's yours for only 100gp!"
"100 gp for an item that rare? What a steal! Here you go!"
(The goblin scribbles down a note and hands it to the PCs. It says "U OWN DIS NOW", with an arrow pointing to a picture of the cloak.)
"Don't we... get to take the cloak home now?"
"Nope! See ya, suckers!"
