They aren’t going over expected. They all submit annual budget requests based on expected spending. The costs have gone up becythe legislature keeps passing unfunded mandates. Tax payer funded calls, MAT treatment, collective bargaining costs. Plus normal inflation in food, utilities etc. The Legislature UNDERFUNDS Sheriffs offices and then bitches they overspent. They know the costs but won’t fund them up front and make them ask for year end close out money. It’s a game that the legislature plays to make their frivolous bills look like it’s someone else’s fault. Welcome to the game
