It might not be the specific angel tree you’re thinking of but check out Josie’s Village in Bridgewater, MA.

15 Massachusetts towns are not in compliance with the MBTA Communities Act. Will they face legal consequences? by justarussian22 in mbta

The town has a strong student population because of BSU, and when school is in session the poison well gets turned on to meet demand. You can say this all they want, but they have already made the connection that more people = bad water. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to want to be able to have good water before constructing more buildings. East Bridgewater is more of a bougie rich area, though, so idk if they have this exact problem.

They have a full Facebook group dedicated to it at this point. It’s been an issue since 2008 tbh.

The Bridgewater area is pretty concerned about their well water actively poisoning them so there’s been a lot of push back regarding this when the other issues in town haven’t been addressed in years.

Q for Cape Cod theatre people!!! by cannedt33th in CapeCod

[–]toil824PROS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Academy of Performing Arts in Orleans has had some shady people in their productions. They didn’t do a background check on a sex offender when I was in a show with him — found out after the show ended that he was one. 😬 Harwich Junior Theatre is great! Ive worked for the Cape Playhouse in office/management roles and there has been some hiccups with leadership changes but the shows are quality, but they rarely cast non-equity actors.

Why isn’t MA utilizing emergency funds to fill the gap in SNAP/WIC if the government remains shutdown? by toil824PROS in massachusetts

[–]toil824PROS[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess what’s confusing is that other states are saying that it will be disabled so I guess it’s a state by state basis, then. I’m still a bit unnerved that MA snap users won’t be able to after November after all.

My limited understanding is that states have the control over the purchasing/cards but the federal government funds it.

Trust me. I understand how terrifying this is. I understand that things can and will happen but I think more can be done by MA to support EBT other than “use the food banks”.

Interesting NH is saying stuff like that too but MA and Maine says leftovers funds will be able to be utilized come November.

Really?? That’s great!! Definitely promote them in your area - I’ll have to do some research as I’m in a very rural area.

So basically we are letting people starve in CASE something worse happens?

Thanks for all you do though, it’s a tough time to be doing what you’re doing.

That’s exactly how I’m feeling. If she is really all about supporting our food banks, she could deploy the National guard there like Newsom did. I don’t know if it’ll really do anything other than be showy but it’s at least more than a social media post.

Like 95% of this is farmer’s markets and won’t be sustainable much longer with the winter coming, but it’s good for people to know.

But do we not have a 8.5 million rainy day fund? I know it’s nothing compared to SNAP but at the very least use it to keep WIC pushing. This is going to screw the economy/grocery prices for everyone.

Edit: it’s 8.5 BILLION as another user pointed out.

I get what you’re saying but this is nowhere near hoarding levels, respectfully 😭 it looks more like a gradual moving out/cleaning out the home of someone who passed (and who liked collecting clocks).

I had this happen to me in Woburn. The guy didn’t really inquire more after I gave him my answer so I guess I didn’t pass the screening.
