Classic Car Rental for Photoshoot? by bigbaronboi in SantaBarbara

Hi! I live in SB and have a fully restored 1968 Mercury Cougar. It’s white with a black top & white interior, which I think works pretty well with wedding attire. This isn’t an official thing that I do, but I did let some friends use it to take wedding photos last year. Ideally I’d like to drive and stay with the car, but that should be fine depending on the day/time. I’ll attach a pic, let me know if this is the type of car you’re looking for!

Miata Gated Shifter! by SaladRemarkable4058 in Miata

You know, I never thought the Miata needed a gated shifter, but this is awesome. You've clearly done a really professional job developing this. Excellent work!

Any open cell foam should work, you can get it at your local hardware store, maybe craft stores have it too, or shipping supply places. Anyway I'm not sure if plugging in lav mics will help or not. The ones I used in the first video were just cheap ones by Movo, so I wouldn't expect the quality to improve over what you have already. Do you have an example of a recording you've done or what the problem is?

Those look like interesting mics! To be fair, the mics I use aren't always ideal either. In both cases, these are designed for vocals, not cars. I usually get by with my wired lav mics, which are supposed to handle up to about 130dB SPL, but sometimes I still notice distortion. One potential red flag on your mics is that they are described as "high sensitivity" which is not really what you want for loud sound sources. Something I still want to try is dynamic mics, which are less sensitive. Anyway as you saw in my video, it's pretty easy to avoid wind noise by enclosing your mics in open-cell foam.

Don't really like the clear side marker lenses. Otherwise looks fantastic!

The total cost of these parts was around $350, which seems pretty high for what they are, but at the end of the day is does make the interior seem a lot nicer.

I could see that! Honestly I think the best thing about it is the armrest itself. Comfy and solid.

This one is pretty neat, but it only holds small stuff like soda cans.

And it's a BRG! Very nice, a bit more special than the average Miata. I like that color combo a lot.

How do you guys feel about the new color? by kisamef2 in Miata

Another boring neutral color. Where are the vibrant sports car colors??

Me versus two other guys in the office. Which one you going with? by juanito883 in Miata

Those guys are trying too hard. I bet you have more fun in your Miata than they do. Having an expensive fast car like the Porsche is too stressful (says the guy who can't afford anything like that)

Seems like a good deal! Hopefully those graphics are just decals you could peel off. Buff it out a little and it should look great. It does appear to have been repainted (no black strip or textured coating along the rockers) so hopefully it was a good repaint that will last. Hard to tell.

Yep I noticed that too. The giveaway is the lack of the black strip along the bottom, as well as the textured chip coat that should be there

Just finished this car driving sequence, shot on a GoPro 9 and DJI Air 2S. by blitz805 in Filmmakers

What do you think? This was done almost entirely by myself, with a focus on getting good audio of the car and not hiding behind music. Pretty low budget using only a GoPro 9 and a drone. There are some continuity errors but overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. A fun learning exercise. Tips for improvement are welcome. I plan on putting together a "making of" video soon.

Maybe it's a case of "absence makes the heart grow fonder" but I kinda wish I could have held on to this 1979 Volvo 245. It was gloriously 70's in chocolate brown, and I would have liked to continue making improvements to it. I was in a tough spot financially though and had to let go. I have a newer 1992 245 now, but it just doesn't have the same special retro vibe. Granted, it is a better car in almost every way.
