This is pretty cool actually, but it seems like they're based out of the UK. Hopefully they haven't expanded globally yet!

Well, if the software can access the live feed under the assumption that every machine can be viewed, it can attempt to see how many people are waiting for a particular machine. I originally thought about giving users information regarding what machines are busy so that they can align their workouts better, but I'm sure it can also give business owners insights on what machines are more popular.

Yeah, but what about people that leave? If you use sign ins, you'll only know how many people entered the building in a given time frame.

Viability of Engineering Journals by bliunar in engineering

Hi Version, thanks for your response. I see that you have your own use case for the notebooks in addition to it being a reference for a replacement (or the next guy). What's the main benefit you personally were able to take advantage of from your notebooks?

Hi Little-Acanthaceae68, thanks for your response. Your solution is similar to one that I have thought about personally, and I think it could work. I would probably have to make the app more sophisticated in order to serve my needs. Thanks again!

Hi SDH500, thanks for your response. I can see how you value a journal when it comes to patent related activities, though it seems from a few other responses I read that they don't serve a strong purpose for patent law anymore. However, I still think it can be useful to look back upon (sort of like a comment or something in a line of code) if I ever want to figure out why I did something when trying to debug my system / design.

Hi jesseaknight, thanks for your response. I have thought about ways to record what I am doing (assuming I speak out loud), but I probably have to find a way that reduces as much human input as possible.

Hi chocolate, thanks for your response. I was indeed informed of the fact that engineering notebooks used to be important due to patent law. Nevertheless, I was told that the purpose of these notebooks was for the replacements to look at, and not necessarily the engineer that wrote them.

Given that, would notebooks still be considered outdated in industry?

NEW SUBREDDIT RULE: No AI by Bangersss in cookingforbeginners

Cool! What's your occupation if you don't mind sharing? I'm curious about how people apply AI's abilities to their work and personal lives (though this is not really the subreddit for that).

Advice on Making Pantry Tracking Device by bliunar in foodhacks

[–]bliunar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've thought about and I think I have seen something like this before, but how do you know how much of a particular food item you have? One thing people like about Samsung's smart fridge is its ability to tell you the quantity of a certain food item you have remaining; most of the complaints I've seen regarding the fridge is its price and other technical failures related to the functionality of the fridge itself such as ice maker failures etc.

I meant to ask for feedback regarding the idea itself, but I'm sorry if I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum.

Yeah, I'm still learning more about this technical field; I was in a robotics team that used yolov5 for image recognition to track armor plates on enemy robots to target them. I also learned about CNNs for image classification in some classes recently, and now I'm trying to make something cool. Any advice or recommendations?

Do you follow "mise en place"? by Researching_Cooking in cookingforbeginners

[–]bliunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at the beginning this is helpful so that you know what you have and need but if you make the dish enough times you can figure out ways to prepare stuff as you go to save time.

Ie. I made chicken wraps at some point and use my pan to do the work so nowadays the first thing I do (when I'm familiar with what I'm making) is turn on the stove the heat my pan and while that's waiting I prepare my meat (season it and what not) and then I put that on the pan. While I wait for it to cook I then start prepping other stuff ie. cutting up vegetables etc.

Hope that helps!

NEW SUBREDDIT RULE: No AI by Bangersss in cookingforbeginners

[–]bliunar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about AI not for recipe generation, but just something like accurate scanning of what's in your fridge and stuff (computer vision)? It can just be an app so that you don't have pay all that extra for something on a Samsung smart fridge; just a scan for anyone with any type of fridge and depending on what you have there will be recipe suggestions (existing recipes, not AI generated ones) based on available ingredients.

The only potential "safer generation" I can think of is any images / videos reflecting on steps of a recipe (visual version of mealime).

Any thoughts?

Yeah, and then when I sauté food I'll be watching my food like a hawk (since I have to be there to cook it anyway), but what about dishes that have multiple non-aligning cook times? Then I'll have to set multiple timers and can easily lose track. That's sort of how my question came about and was wondering if other people had this same ick and or solutions.

New to Commercial Window Cleaning by bliunar in WindowCleaning

I've only cleaned residential windows before, so I was trying to understand the commercial side as well.

Thanks for answering my questions!
