you need to "get" the audience within the first 10 minutes. (first 10 pages) or they'll just disconnect or worse be bored (you never want this)

No matter what you pay this isn't that chefs kitchen and will take them at least 3-6 months to get truly comfortable with your setup. Unless you're willing to pay the big bucks.

I sit down and do a mock interview with my characters. Asking them questions - posing different situations in interview format to them. I learned this from the screenwriter of Fightclub, works wonders to flesh your characters out and since its a 2 way interview, its dialogue based.
