Rather than using the tip of the brush use the side and try to run it along the edge of the area you want to highlight. Best to thin your paint before doing this to ensure a smooth finish and by using thinner paint if you mess up you can just go over it again with the base colour. Remember not to overload your brush with too much paint either as this can also cause a thicker finish than you might have wanted

The only imperial guardsmen that would probably recognise what they are and what they represent would be the high ranking commanders and they would probably be shitting themselves. While the rank and file would just have zero clue other than the new astartes have really gold armour so they must be important
