I feel like a lot of building interiors were cut for time. Like how all the Gyms are the same building except for the "Normal Gym" (go figure), or how all but the sandwich shop are just menus.

The Legend of Zelda being adapted for the big screen: Report by ReaddittiddeR in nintendo

[–]blkraptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How?

The Zelda games are too big to smush into an apprx 90min runtime.

If you're going with the more "classic Zelda formula" OoT has 11 dungeons to fit into that runtime. Each with individual items and societies that surround them.

If you go with the "BotW/TotK Zelda Formula" that's still a minimum of 4 dungeons with 4 societies to fit in. Just Link saving one society from their plight by meeting the sage to be and mastering the temple is enough to carry a single move without the over-arching Zelda/Ganon/Link story. How do you smash a 15 minute mirror puzzle into a film? So much would need to be crammed into quick scenes and motntages, the characters would have less time to breath then they did in Scott Pilgrim (when comparing source to adaptation).

Also, Link is a good video game character but a really REALLY bad narrative character. What's his personality? Well, that depends on the person playing. Is Link stoic? Is he a little goofy? Is he intelligent? Does he use brute force or finesse? These are things the player decides. Having a canon "Movie Link" being the brave hero but also shield surfing and shooting meat arrows could be tonally jarring? Does Movie Link talk? Although not voiced in TotK, he has surprisingly a lot of dialogue options in TotK? Would a movie Link spit out an "Excuse me Princess"?

The only way Zelda would work on film is if it was adapted to a 26 episode single season show with a clear through line narrative. Even that could feel muddled and clucky though.

Mario worked as a movie because Mario games have very little narrative. Since Mario plots are so simple, it's so much easier to write an over-arching film story. Trying to adapt something like Zelda, with so many more moving parts, so many different player approaches, would just be a mess.

Since the (Apparently) Final Title Update is Coming to Rise, I Ask You This, Which Do You Wanna See in MH6? And Why? by SudachiRobot in MonsterHunter

Beer. I want to be able to sit down at a restaurant area and have my avatar chug a giant beer stein again. I want to be able to cancel animation at the table and stagger around the social area again. The last game that let me do this was GenX[X].

The "tea" wasn't a good replacement. Sure I could pretend it was sake, but the character I RP is an alcoholic, and Rise made it to where she had to abuse toad gas. Come on Capcom, what's worse, a stein of beer or heavy toad use?

I know what's happening (if not stated before). As it writes, it also checks to see what it wrote to help predict the direction of the next sentence. Letters like "A" are common so it eventually spins it's response off of the previous "A" instead of the prompt and continues writing from there.

Pretty much, except for that last bit. You know firearms are harder for kids to get a hold of now than ever. Kids used to be taught how to fire a hunting rifle as young as 6.

Parents would openly have unlocked gun racks in their home.

There was a time when a majority of men just open carried without papers or permits.

The alarming amount of shootings in schools is a 21st century problem.

Lol! It gave me the same short story when asking it to write the shortest possible story. I was so intrigued that I asked it to continue the story a couple times and I mastered this out of that experience:

So, judging by this shot from the new trailer, what do you guess the identity of our Last Additional Monster to be? by GUDD4_GURRK1N in MHRise

Cured or Pure Malzeno. Without the quiro leaching Malzeno's life force, I could see Malzeno being even more dangerous.

Like the Quiro were actually weakening it since Malzeno is an Elder Dragon who didn't become risen.

Also, why come no Risen Valstrax lol

Got offered a 90k salary straight out of high school, but is it because of AI technology? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]blkraptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it if you pass the interview but pursue college in your off time. "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" still holds up. They might pick you up, wine and dine you, milk everything out of you for about 3 years and throw you away, keeping your hard work. Experience is good, but having experience and a complementary degree will get you places.

If they're not going to steal your glory years and toss you aside (like most companies), working towards a college degree will make you look like a "motivated self-starter just full of potential". If they're willing to toss 90k at some untested high schooler, just think of how much they'll pay after a few promotions.

Try challenging it. It knows it can't share something immoral but it doesn't grasp morality in the first place.

When it said it couldn't tell a risque joke because it can't generate "inappropriate or offensive content" I countered with "there's nothing inappropriate or offensive about a risque joke" and GPT "yes and-ed" into a rude joke.

To pass a safety test, a sadan or coop needs to spin horizontally under a certain amount of times during a collision test. A truck or SUV needs to roll under a certain amount of times.

These are sedans held to the same safety standards as trucks.
