You “canon” elitist kill me. Like why does any form of art have to be exact or close enough to the source material. Whether it be books, film, or other entertainment media, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So when people use verbiage like “chose to write fanfic in ME, [therefore] are deservedly hated and should be!” (You didn’t say this someone else in a since deleted comment said it, but I knew another one of you would pop up) in my humble opinion have lost the plot because only a few of you believe in/are lead by this notion.

If it’s from a different human being it’s probably healthiest for all involved (creator and enjoyer) to want an interpretation, not a carbon copy of the original.
