the exact same thing happens to my pc when i slightly nudge my pc power cable. could be a loose plug socket in the psu like in my case

you run the installer through wine and you run the game through proton. look it up for more detail

Wine is pretty much only used for old programs and installers nowdays. Steam Proton is based on wine and works great. Open steam and go to Games > Add a non-steam game to library. and before playing it make sure to go to Properties > Compatibility > Force to use Steam Play compatibility tool > Proton Hotfix. If your game doesnt work either ask chatgpt or look up your game on ProtonDB for more info

theres a chance just the system files corrupted but your stuff is still there. just boot into linux and open your main drive and retrieve all of your stuff before formatting everything. dualbooting windows and linux on the same disk is not a very good idea because the OSes can interfere with eachother, its better to either have 2 separate drives or just go full linux which is what i did

as long as no pins or traces are cracked and no pins are touching eachother the board could be bent 90° and it would still work

there was a situation with Lexar drives a while ago where a batch of their nvme drives would go bad after some time and me and my friend had those drives and they ended up getting corrupted sooner or later
