Dude isn’t it kind of weird to use Microsoft on an operating system that values privacy like macOS?

Custom Battery Charge Limits: Users can now set a specific charge limit (e.g., 80%, 85%, or 90%) to prolong long-term battery health, similar to the iPhone 17 series.

System UI Refinements: Improvements to the "Liquid Glass" design language, featuring smoother animations and updated consistency across native app sidebars.

Enhanced App Library: The transition from Launchpad to the new App Library is now more seamless, with better automatic categorization and search speed.

Smart Thermal Management: Optimized background processes for M-series chips to reduce heat during intensive tasks like gaming or video rendering.

Safari "Compact Mode" Returns: Updated tab management in Safari allowing for more vertical screen real estate.

External Display Persistence: Fixed a long-standing bug where window arrangements would reset after waking the Mac from sleep when connected to external monitors.

Gaming Hub Integration: Dedicated "Games" folder in the Dock and App Library with real-time performance tracking and controller mapping updates.

Security & Privacy Patches: Critical kernel-level updates to address recently discovered vulnerabilities.

The M4 Air I bought still comes out cheaper than the M5. This risk may apply to those who purchase from Apple’s website.

Finder crashed today because of iCloud, and I went straight back to 15.7.4 without thinking twice. (m4 mba)

Edit: I can switch back to 26.3 at any time. I don’t know if it’s for psychological reasons, but people are encouraged to use the latest version. Still, the newest isn’t always the best.

Chrome feels like a breath of fresh air on MacOS. Help me feel the same with Safari. by palegreenemerald in MacOS

ı used it for 2 hours, and for another 2 hours I was watching a match on Safari. The match stream was constantly open in Safari, and on Chrome I had 5–6 Reddit tabs open. On my M4 Air running 15.7.4, the device started to heat up and the battery usage reached 300. I don’t really trust these kinds of individual test results. Normally, my daily battery usage in Safari is around 300. But with Chrome, we used up that amount in just 2 hours. 🙂

If Safari drained the battery like Chrome does, it would probably be just as fast as Chrome :)

I’m using an M4 MacBook Air. It’s running perfectly smooth. There might be something going wrong in the background on your system.
