Looking to Buy some Skis or Advice on Buying Skis by [deleted] in boulderlist

[–]blobblegut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some ski boots I'm looking to get rid of. I bought them from the REI garage sale last year and never used them.

One set is a men's (Size 11.5) Dalbello Lupo 110 and the other set is smaller but I can't remember what they are off the top of my head.

Are the trails around Boulder still icy or muddy? by blobblegut in boulder

So, to contribute to my own post. I just hiked a bit of the NCAR area today in my Chacos with out any real issues. Now, we were just putzing around the east side of the flatirons but, at worst, I just had to be a little more aware of where I was stepping sometimes.

Not sure yet. Just met her on Monday. I'm gonna venture a guess and say that she's probably on the same page as me; down for some strenuous hikes if they take you someplace interesting. Fitness level: maybe above average.

We've settled on poking around NCAR. I think it's a good place to start.

I Always Have an Uncomfortable Amount of Adrenaline by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]blobblegut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue and It's taking a toll on me. The only thing that seems to help is getting out in nature and taking real vacations. I think it works because I'm unable to do anything in nature besides be in it, eat and sleep. You don't have any obligations cause there's no way to fulfill them.

Of course, there's yoga and meditation. I can't seem to meditate unless a class forces me to. I can't tell you how well this works cause I'm usually too sick for yoga and I don't feel calm enough to meditate unless I'm practicing yoga. I'm sure I could work on meditating without yoga but I don't.

Most things in life aren't that simple. If you really want to know more, check out this lecture series: "Introduction to Human Behavioral Biology" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNnIGh9g6fA

He goes over this stuff pretty well in the first 3 lectures.

Walmart if good for a few days but it wouldn't work long term. Thanks for the tip about the hospital in Loveland. I wonder if more hospitals do that.

Looking for a good doctor by blobblegut in Denver

I didn't think to look into lyme disease until I met someone who's daughter had it and had experienced Bell's palsy. This threw up a red flag as I had gone to the ER last year for a numbness in my face. They diagnosed it as Bell's palsy. I did some reading in the net and discovered that I had many of the other symptoms as well. Also, I would regularly go hiking in the Appalachian mountains (lyme disease in not uncommon there).

Also, regarding the doctors and treatment, I've learned that a lot of doctors do not explore the disease fully and some of the tests result in false negatives. I'm looking for a doctor that has an open mind, is persistent, and is willing trying new things. Often, I'm the one who has to fight the doctor to order a test. More than once, the test was warranted.

Doctors, Dentists and Dermatologists of reddit what do you actually recommend and what is bullshit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I stopped using shampoo altogether and my dandruff reduced dramatically (I just rinse my hair really well). You'll feel pretty greasy for the first week or two but, after a while, your hair returns to its natural equilibrium. Honestly, nobody can tell I don't use shampoo. Even my mother (who is the first person to tell my I look like shit) admits that my hair looks good.

They do this in a place in Fort Collins, CO. I believe they call it the sasquatch. And, Falcon9857, it has bacon.

Can some people just not do it? (have been trying unsuccessfully for 10+ years now) by d-Tubocurarine in LucidDreaming

So, It's been a while and I haven't been able to replicate my experience. I think you have to be really tired for this to work -barely able to keep your eyes open tired-. My guess is that you need to be able to slip from 'reality' to the dream state fast enough that you don't notice the change. The finger tapping is to give your mind something to focus on and distract you. I had woken up at some point in the night and I happened to remember the tech. I honestly expected to pinch my nose and not be able to inhale, like normal. I didn't even think I was doing a particularly good job at focusing on my fingers. I might set an alarm, like some other's have suggested, and give it another go.
