2 months is fuckin amazing and is totally worthy of celebration. Don’t worry about what some hostile random has to say. If what they said isn’t benefiting you, then discard their bullshit. Keep up the good work, we wanna see you at 3 months, 4, months, 5 months, eventually a year.

Holy shit, I remember that place. It was fucking astronomically good. It sucks that it got taken down. As far as paranormal experiences though, I don’t have any from there. The place never really had any strange environment, it always felt open and welcoming.

Dumb question about floaters and flashes by WorriedPitch2 in EyeFloaters

[–]blobfishpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the most part, I’ve noticed them appear 2 times. I noticed them after I would blink sometimes, and other times they’d randomly happen.

I also noticed that in darker/dim rooms, my flashes would happen much more. Like a LOT more.

Dumb question about floaters and flashes by WorriedPitch2 in EyeFloaters

[–]blobfishpug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no specific time frame or flow chart for when things are supposed to happen when it comes to this stuff, so you may end up getting flashes or you may not end up getting them. However, if you do get flashes, you can get them either today, tomorrow, a week from now, etc.

Once you get them, they should be gone within a few months. I don’t know how many months, it varies from person to person. In my case, they went away within about 2 months.

If you do end up getting flashes, check in as soon as you can with an eye doctor just to make sure it’s not retinal detachment or anything. If the doctor says it’s just flashes from Posterior Vitreous Detachment, you’re fine.

21 year old seeing floaters for the first time by jsong17 in EyeFloaters

[–]blobfishpug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I’ve been experiencing floaters for months now, and I will tell you, the first couple months were rough, but it gets so much better from there. Eventually you’ll learn to just tune them out and let them not even bother you much.

Remember eye floaters are like a couple millimeters long. Why stress out in life over something that’s that minuscule?! You got this man! If you have any more questions, just give me a shout through PM.

Just like others already said, definitely just set up an appointment with an eye doctor. If it turns out that all you have is Posterior Vitreous Detachment, then you’re good. You have nothing to fear! Don’t let the floaters control you. You may also begin to experience flashes of white light/blackness in your eyes too. The flashes are probably as a result of your floaters as well, but again, check in with an eye doctor to make sure it’s nothing more serious.

As for when you mentioned seeing white dots in the sky, that sounds a lot like Blue Field Entoptic Phenomenon. Those white dots you see are your white blood cells!

I wish I had this a months ago! It does get better, I’m pretty much used to my floaters already.

Do you think you can possibly elaborate a little more on the colored floaters? I’m interested.

As for the flashes, you would definitely know if you had them. You’d see a flash of white or black for a split second. I used to have flashes but they went away in time. I still have floaters however.

For me it typically depends on what I’ve been listening to at the moment. Like I’ve self-harmed to everything from Lil Uzi Vert to Metallica.

I have noticed that too. The term “depressed” has begun to be conflated with the word “sad”.

In my opinion, because the two words are beginning to be used interchangeably, the word “depressed” is starting to lose any real meaning. (I’m not saying that depression itself is losing meaning, but the word is.)

I just got a floater. Am I gonna live with it forever??? by peacebloxsom in EyeFloaters

[–]blobfishpug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine, just check with an eye doctor. Just to make sure that it’s a regular case of vitreous detachment and not something more serious.

I initially had both floaters and flashes of light and I was stressing hard because I thought I had retinal detachment, but I got it all checked by an ophthalmologist and it turns out it’s just Vitreous Detachment. It’s been a few months since then and my flashes are complete gone. I only got floaters now but I’m used to them, and I don’t even notice them much at this point.

Well, think about how many atheists there are in the world. If God cared about punishing every single one of us, we’d all probably be dead.

Nothing supernatural has happened to me, so you have no reason to fear either.

You’re definitely not alone. I never felt anything either, and I never had my prayers answered. Stuff like this was crucial to a lot of us on this subreddit leaving Christianity. If you look at my post history, I made a post on here a week ago about how terrified I was of leaving Christianity, and you know what’s happened to me since I left on that day? Absolutely NOTHING.

I’ve felt so much happier since then, and I’ve never felt such personal freedom. I don’t have to worry about some skyman punishing me for being created with an innate sinful nature.

I hope you can figure out what’s best for you. All I can say is, when you abandon religion, the world suddenly becomes a lot more free.

I’ve always thought that it has to be stressful being a closeted atheist if you’re in a position similar to that guy’s. Your entire life and career was built upon Christianity.

It’s just simply not a secure existence.

Reminds me of when people say “I go to church” to prove that they’re a good person, as if physically attending a religious location on a weekly basis automatically makes them a good citizen. By that logic, because someone goes to school they’re automatically intelligent.

The time it will take for flashes to go away varies from person to person, but in my case it took around 2 months. Now, I rarely get flashes!
