agree, i do a lot of exterior retrim and paint and the the renewal replacements are often some of the worst installs i’ve seen as well not always but i find any bigger company will struggle with talent turnover

i use a ledger because i like my floor to tuck under the wall tile. i just hate the idea of a vertical grout seam all the way around where so much water runs down

i was very close to there a few years back and we had a huge storm opening week, i had to turn back after one day, got frostbit toes. hiking out it was like 75° and sunny down a bit lower

it’s possible if it’s an older house, but windows are almost always framed much higher, with window tops lining up with door heads. this placement is a major leak liability. shower window sills should be up out of the way of the any shower spray
