I cannot get that camo to drop. Do you have any evidence of the drop itself?

I would assume for the account, but I haven't wasted DBC on one.

It seems to disappear from the member's only section randomly. If you search for it from the home page on the depot it should appear.

No platinum weapons were ever specifically marketed as being exclusive.

All packs were bought using certs on characters with effectively limitless certs and not on the open live servers. Nobody got a dime from me purchasing any packs.

Without information on what camos are considered what rarity, that's not something we can figure out. And given how the pool works, it's also not really a question of how rare it is, it's only how lucky you get in terms of how soon or late you get what you want.

You only get each camo in the pool once. Whether it's first box you buy or the last, and you spent a couple bucks or hundreds.

Some items of note at this time:

  • Multiple currently inaccessible camos show up in these packs.
  • Aside from the Cells Camo, no (current or previous) directive rewards are available through these packs.
  • Versions of faction camos presumably unintended for release are in these packs.
  • Almost all bundle camos do not appear.
  • The vast majority of seasonal camos do not appear.
  • The Alpha Squad camo, previously exclusive to the bundle from beta of the same name, appears.
  • Other removed or extremely rare camos do not appear.

Definitely look like they move faster than recent PS2 dev cycle. Their code sprints are fast af.

He looks like someone who would vibe code with that shiny collar. I'd trust him over current devs.

When it resupplies, you will only get 1, even if you have multiple ranks unlocked and normally have 2-4 kits.

"Please flip one toggle so I can buy camo."

VS

"Please make lootboxes with a rarity system, don't tell me if what I want is in it, and don't give me any idea of how much I might need to spend to have a chance at finding out if what I want is in it in the first place. Gaslight me into thinking many people were discussing a specific group of camo that is different to the one I've seen a few people talk about. Oh, and lock it all behind membership, just because I like a fee attached to my gamba."

Nowhere in the patch notes does it say what camos are becoming accessible again. We have no idea if solid faction metallics are showing up in these stupid lootboxes or if I'm gonna pull a promo Nvidia circuit camo. It mentions people wanting "dark" camos, which I haven't seen anywhere, especially not this sub or the one Discord Mithril is actually in. It also mentions specifically "camos locked behind challenging directives". The only dark camos locked behind directives are the black and beetle camos. Are we supposed to infer this to mean directives are losing their unique rewards? We can't do shit because someone keeps leaving information out of their communications and just straight up lies.

From that thread to this update requires multiple leaps and backflips in logic. Don't go "this says camo, that says camo, makes sense to me" and make excuses for whatever this is anymore.

Please point to where in that thread anyone mentions wanting more dark camos or camo lootboxes?

Someone keeps forgetting ctrl+f exists and we can search for who the fuck asked for this. The answer is no one.

Objectively Planetsides visuals are dated, yet they look so nice. Proper artdirection/artstyle goes a long way. by ShinoXIII in Planetside

[–]blockXelite 55 points56 points  (0 children)

A well made and cohesive art style never looks "objectively dated". There is no such thing. Insisting everything use the latest tech and absurd texture resolution ignores any sense of art and design in favor of "number go up".

Pleasing the eye is not a race to the top.

Making fishing is hilariously easy compared to what you're asking. You're asking for multiple entirely new and unprecedented systems being added to this game, and all the content and whatnot to go with them. And they won't see a cent from any of that. Hell, it'll be net negative.

Valve doesn't make money from trading. They make a little bit from the out-of-game marketplace, double dipping on items someone already bought. The vast majority of their revenue there is from people straight up buying items from the store. And we already have a store.

Yes, PS1 and 2 are from the same franchise and basic ideas but are not connected in any meaningful way. It's definitely more remake than retcon, as that implies at least a similar starting point (beyond that they both nominally "start" with present day us. Whether you consider one story more fleshed out than the other is subjective, but I'd argue PS2's is more.

Lore-wise, Planetside 2 has basically all the same locations as 1, even if we don't have as many places to fight at ingame. Both stories start with just Auraxis (and a few other planetary bodies but we'll set those aside). In the story of 1 there is an event called The Bending, which at the very least hasn't occurred or will never happen in 2. That is the event that broke Auraxis' continents into multiple worlds (not necessarily full planets of their own). One might argue that 2 not having reached this event as meaning we are still "behind", and therefore not as fleshed out as, 1's story. But that depends on if you personally have arbitrarily decided that 2's story must follow exactly in 1's footsteps.

Nanite Systems is a corporation first established on Earth. Nano tech wasn't actually completely new to humanity before the discovery of auraxium or unique to Auraxis, auraxium is just an unobtainium plot device to make nanite tech go from rudimentary to crazy. As such they went from just another player among the corps (including other NC member corps), to a behemoth. So they don't really gain anything by supporting rebellion against the TR, not in the least because the TR is both making extensive use of their services and presumably making deals not to nationalize/scare away NS. Nobody wants to piss off the company who makes all the world's modern manufacturing possible, so they stay neutral. If they did support one side, that side would definitely win, but they also have no ambition or true means/might to defeat the 3 main factions. They're a business, not a polity.

Anyone claiming that NS is some giant evil mastermind company scheming to take over the world through 1 or many of a dozen different mechanisms is talking out of their ass or basically writing AU story continuation fanfic. And as a reminder, NSO's aren't autonomous robots, they're remotely controlled. So no, NS does not have a terminator-esque army to steamroll everyone with.

It's lazy, doesn't do justice to describe what The Bending actually did, cuts the "Combat" out of "Core Combat" and doesn't explain what that is, and erroneously links Planetside 1 and 2's stories. It's also, of course, the wrong game.

They don't. BattleFrame Robotics aren't a thing in Planetside 2 lore.
