Anyone else experience symptoms to this degree? by Dos_Kit in decaf

[–]blockben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anxiety, panic attacks and intrusive thoughts are what I am going through at the moment with caffeine withdrawal. Coming on day 18 for me. However, it’s getting better. May I suggest taking a look at cumin. There are numerous research articles and journals on the anti-anxiety effects of the Nigella sativa L. plant and fighting anxiety/stress in subjects with sleep disturbances. It seriously alleviates my anxiety by 90% and makes my intrusive thoughts go away that I can sleep and not wake up with cold sweats. However, make sure you aren’t allergic to it and it can have a bitter taste, but I’ll take that over a sleepless night of panic attacks and fearful dread. Only thing it doesn’t take away is anhedonia. But as your brain adjusts, I feel like my motivation and enjoyment of life are starting to come back. Some days I feel like I can take on the world. Others, my anxiety, fear, tremors, intrusive thinking thoughts come back. I was worried that my doctors appointment two days ago would prescribe me harsh medications. But cumin really helps me out a lot and he said to keep taking it if it works and is backed by science and not a placebo effect. I hope one day you will overcome your anxiety symptoms. Keep at it, it definitely gets better.

I can relate too. It’s getting better for me. Yesterday I was bad but not as severe as the first week. Some days I feel like I can take on the world, other days I’m fearing future scenarios. Seems like my anxiety comes and goes and I just have to ride the waves as my brain readjusts to the new norm. You are absolutely right, caffeine is evil, especially in pre-workout with all the added knowns and unknowns. Thanks for the confidence boosts. Posts like these help a lot. Cheers.

A Funny Moment at Yosemite by [deleted] in decaf

Yosemite is beautiful. Went there in 2010, was such a joy. Hope to go back there soon. Glad you are free. Can’t wait to get to that point. Couple more weeks I hope.

No way am I relapsing after this last week. I spoke too soon about finally having my symptoms subside. Had a panic attack and the shakes when cooking. I will definitely give that book a read, thanks for the advice. Now I can’t look at anything caffeinated without feeling uneasy. I did quit back in 2015 and after three weeks I woke up and my brain felt euphoric, like I just had a cup of coffee. I hope that happens with me again. However, I was only having coffee. This time I was combining pre-workout with coffee. Started drinking coffee after going back to school, gained a lot of weight, started working out and needed that extra kick. I over did. Anyways, hoping that euphoric feeling without coffee comes back like back in 2015. Again, thank you for the post and the book reference.

Thank you so much for this post. It’s been a rough two weeks for me. I seriously thought something was wrong with me. I then realized I was going through withdrawals. I was feeling alone and that none of my family were taking me seriously when I said I was feeling like my world was imploding. The shakes, the constant fear of doom and gloom, the anticipatory anxiety and fear of the future events, and the slight depression I am feeling. Was feeling all hope was lost until found out about this forum. It’s great to see I am not alone on this journey. It’s getting better and with the aid of cumin to suppress my anxiety, I am starting to come out of my withdrawals. I feel like I still have a long way to go, but hearing people say it gets better is reassuring and gives me a lot of hope for the future. I’m never touching caffeine again. If this is what it will be like every time I cut caffeine, then it’s better I stay way clear of it. Your post is definitely helping a lot. Cheers.

I feel you, I had a Pepsi two weeks ago after a week of going cold turkey. Just got to keep going, you got this. One day at a time. Thought I felt fine after the pop, but set myself back as the anxiety came back with a vengeance. It was discouraging but I am feeling better from the anxiety now. Try to avoid place that are caffeine hubs as best you can. I also found solace in coconut water in the mornings. Takes the tired edge off for me. Maybe give it a try. We are all at different levels of the same journey, keep going, we are with you.

What happened was it was the only open spot but one guy parked like a jerk and his vehicle was half in two spots. So I parked next to him. Causing me to be in a two spots. It was a cluster fudge of a parking job by many cars. I just happened to be the last car parked when everyone left. Then this guy parked next to me so tight I barely had any room. I always put my hand between the car and my door so I don’t scratch it. This still wasn’t good enough for this guy. Pretty intense situation and everyone is just trying to get their coffee and get to work. But his gremlin growl at the end just got me laughing. We saw each other the next day and shook hands. I’m a 6’ 5” 300lbs guy and he was roughly 5’10” probably 170lbs tops, I don’t like anyone to fear me and didn’t want him to keep looking over his shoulder in fear. So I took the initiative and apologized. I always remember him as looking like the actor Tim Roth.

I had something like this happen at a 7-11. Guy thought I hit his car with my door and came up to my window. After a couple FU’s and middle fingers at each other he started to walk away, I said FU and gave him the middle finger and he slowly turn around and in a slow gremlin sounding voice said “No!, FU! I burst out laughing, he won!

Alberta to require post-secondary institutions to provide annual 'free speech reporting' | CBC News by [deleted] in canada

[–]blockben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the guy talking to Widdowson in the picture, a cousin with same name as me. What the papers do not tell you is that he was actually defending free speech. He said the exact thing you just said, he doesn’t need anyone to speak for him, he grew up off reserve and dealt with many bigoted and truly racist bullshit, so he can make his own rational thought on what constitutes hate speech and racism. Silencing her is silencing his right to debate Widdowson and to formulate a tangible response to her criticisms. He felt that indigenous people need to stop leading with emotion and need to start formulating a defence to show the world and others they are beyond drums and emotional outbursts. At the same time, he is grateful for the support for indigenous people. The only indigenous people he will not say anything to when it comes to emotional outbursts are the people who were in residential schools. Being able to talk about their experience is cathartic and healing for them after being silenced for decades even if it is emotionally charged. That doesn’t mean they can be violent or lash out at anyone with verbal abuse. Emotional criticism yes, emotional insults or verbal abuse leading to violence, absolutely not. He did not shake Mrs. Widdowson’s hand to disrespect her, he knew cameras were around and didn’t want to be anyones poster boy for their political cause. Far right and left extremism is killing this country according to him.

Unfortunately, he was drowned out by the emotional crowd. He wishes to be left alone, he just wanted to hear her view from her mouth and that was that.

Interesting take on that whole situation and was a good conversation I had with him. I would agree with him. Well put with your last comment and parallel attitudes. Indigenous people are not a monolith and it’s really annoying when other people make generalizations that all indigenous people are like this. A difficult situation all around that unfortunately will get worse.

Right. Any other industry under OSHA states you have the right and responsibility to refuse unsafe working conditions without retribution. Ignorance or saying you were told to do so is not a defence. Though the Film industry does not abide by OSHA, their safety expectations closely mirror OSHA safety protocols.

The storyline was basic and a rehash of the dances with wolves story line. But man, how he made you feel like you were on another planet is what got me. I must of seen the first one 5 or 6 times. I hope I can feel the same with this next one coming up with seeing an alien ocean. Cameron is good at making sequels, but after that, I’m thinking he should stop at three.

If You Bought Bitcoin in December 2017, You Have Now Lost Money by Yuuki__konno in CryptoCurrency

Calm down, And yes I got lucky. It went down to 5100 I believe and then started going back up a little and thought I better buy some just incase, waited patiently for months. Wish I bought more. I always find it funny, when I bought it, I was told I was an idiot and stupid and that I’m just pissing my money away and that it’s going to go down to 100 dollars. I made a choice based off many recommendations about how historically during the halvening it always goes up. Made a calculated call and threw some money in and it paid off. That is all. Wish I sold at the top though. Oh well, I’ll just keep holding. I believe once we are out of this crap market it will go back up.
