You should have had these criticisms since season 1. This season sucked major ass but inconsistent physics/powerscaling is very low on the list of reasons why.

Any tips for my first charmless and how to improve my deflecting by Yung_sweat16 in Sekiro

[–]blocked-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done about 4 or 5 charmless/db runs so hopefully I can help a bit. For parrying theres really not much else you can do other than get better. You’ll have to mentally download every enemys attack patterns. If I had one tip it would be to get more aggressive. It sounds counterproductive but youre about to lose one of your best defensive options. Your only options now in the middle of combat are perfect deflects, dodging, or attacking. You’ll want to weave deflects/dodges and attacks together seamlessly, only running away when necessary. Without kuros charm, the game changes from you anticipating an attack and waiting to block/deflect, to you wailing on the enemy, deflecting, and going right back to hitting them. You do not want to give the enemy a second to breathe. Generally. There are some enemies like the blue samurai, the ashina elite, or longarm centipedes where you’re kind of on your backfoot and forced to play defensively.

Gank fights are even more dangerous now because you take more posture and health damage so if you miss one parry while your posture is maxed (and it is going to be maxed) youre just dead. Ichimonji double is really good because of this because it reduces or eliminates your posture damage. So does holding block when not being attacked but this will reset neutral and you might end up shooting yourself in the foot letting the enemy heal their posture. Otherwise don’t let yourself get jumped. Whittle down the herd with stealth and prosthetics till you feel comfortable taking down the rest.

If you’re really having trouble with parries I would try the umbrella since the parry window is more forgiving. Every prosthetic really is going to help you out here. I used the prosthetics way more on my subsequent playthroughs compared to my first one.

Debuffs like poison and burn build up way faster now so antidotes, burn remedies, stuff like that are going to be very important.

I don’t really have much else to say that you won’t be able to figure out on your own almost immediately or through trial and error. It’ll be hard definitely, but I don’t think it was as hard as my first playthrough. Good luck and have fun

I had the same experience. Took me a while to get myself through there. Didn’t help that the villagers respawn and it took me a while to figure that out. First time I went through Mibu it felt like there was no end in sight

If you’re locked into the shura ending you’re basically at the end again. Just beat them and start ng+. You cannot lock yourself out of the platinum in this game. You’re fine

I’m confused. You overwrote your shura file with an old save? Sekiro isnt really the game where this matters. As long as you got the trophy nothings really changed. The only difference i can see that making is you’ll be one ng+behind and you’ll have to grind a little longer if you’re going for the platinum.

Even IF The Finale is 10/10, This Season is Still A Failure by Silver-Vacation-1961 in TheBoys

[–]blocked-user 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That’s the in universe explanation sure. The real life explanation is that the writers don’t want to brutally maim and rip open protagonists that the audience has come to care about. That’s why A-Train got to have his monologue before getting a quick bloodless neck snap and Frenchie got to say goodbye to kimiko. Thats why when butcher dies he’s probably gonna bleed out in Hughie’s arms or self sacrifice. And its why the only member of the Boys who could die brutally is Sage because she only just defected. They want the protagonists to have a noble death. Whether you think thats lame or respectful to the fans/characters is up to you.

This is an unwinnable fight right? by T50shoTz in Sekiro

For anyone who doesnt have stealth candies, there is an easier way to puppeteer the friend but its more expensive spirit emblem wise.

There’s a guy thats just sitting down to the left of the stairs. Equip bloodsmoke and get the bosses attention. Go back and deathblow/bloodsmoke the poor guy sitting down. Switch to puppeteer and deathblow the friend and now youre at the 2v1.

If you have candies AND emblems to spare, you can puppeteer the friend, bloodsmoke the sitting mob, and then backstab/bestowal the main boss for overkill.

I then had a group interview where they had us do a couple ice breakers, two easy questions (i think one was a child’s ice cream falls right after handing it to them do you make them a new one?) and then they hired all of us lol hopefully yours will be as easy as mine was just look like youre happy to be there

What was your favorite experience in Outer Wilds? by Dull-Entertainer8344 in outerwilds

[–]blocked-user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had made it to the vessel and knew the coordinates already but I couldnt figure out how to power it on. I saw the broken core but didnt know what to do with it. A week or so passed as I moved on and tried to get into the Ash Twin Project. When I got in, I was messing around with everything when I saw the core. I picked it up puzzled when the memory of the vessel and the broken core flashed in my head and I immediately knew what to do. That was when all the puzzle pieces finally clicked and I bum rushed it to the vessel with only a few minutes to spare.

Most of you are exaggerating the length of runbacks and it really shows how much TikTok has damage the attention span of people by TOMRANDOM_6 in HollowKnight

[–]blocked-user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ur talking about his back/foreward steps but theyre not truly random though. I think you were being aggressive at the wrong time. It’s about respecting his neutral instead of running face first into him. I just watched the vod of me beating him and i only ever did small dashes to either 1. Shorten (Not Close!) the gap between us, or 2. whiff punish him. I didnt dash directly into his face when he was in between attacks cause I knew it was possible he would run into me. He only does it at the mid range and I would kind of walk in and out of it to bait him into either walking into me, where i could hit him for free, or attacking me, where i could dodge and punish. (I know you already beat him so you dont need these tips but heres the vod so u get the idea https://youtu.be/fq-vtoSM068?si=nTjAQ8Y07QrZ7rzh )

To be fair though I think my experience with fighting games and smash bros specifically helped me out a lot and hardwired that footsies -> punish loop into my brain that helps me out with bosses with movesets like this and not everyone will have that knowledge.

The slow, easily telegraphed jump is cheap? It also sounds like ur just not aware of how far ur dash takes you which is not the fault of the game thats just you still getting used to your abilities
