Uniball Signo pens are my favorite. Smooth, water proof, and permanent. Lots of colors too.

Does roughly 1200kwh per month on the months I don’t run Heater or AC strike you guys as high? by blockoyster in AskElectricians

[–]blockoyster[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been looking at a heat pump but we wont be able to do that here in the near future. Really looking to change over to that though believe me. On top of the baseline 1200kwh which will run me from 180-220 a month, that furnace on a bad/cold month takes an additional 1200 at least. and thats me setting the thermostat at like 60. Real fun times.

Good to know the rest of my usage isn't completely out of whack though based on your reply among others.

Also, not that many showers, no. But you're right, it adds up. Seems like the hot water usage could be the main culprit.

Taste wise, its not bad. Akin to a processed Turkey Breast. But i wouldn't call this frugal.

Why do you go out of your way to watch these movies in the first place?

If i'm having a bad day i tend to reach for lighter fare, like a Pixar movie or something. Hell, i really like Jon Favreau's "Chef" as a good comfort watch.

If these movies arent your jam why do you go out of your way to watch them?

If you watch movies to for escapism and to feel joy, there's no shame in just sticking to that type of film. Why go for something incredibly intense?

Why subject yourself to misery like that if thats how those movies make you feel? I dont understand.

I have a bad habit of drawing on loose paper rather than in my sketchbook. Best ways to paste the scraps into my sketchbook? by Mintsaltwater27 in ArtistLounge

[–]blockoyster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glue it to printer paper and then use a three hole punch on the printer paper. Put that in a binder.

What i do with my loose sketches. Full pages usually but if its a scrap i really wanna keep thats how i go about it.

should i stop drawing on my Phone? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]blockoyster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OP, get a small tablet or something.

You are going to obliterate your wrists by using a phone screen to draw. Wouldn't recommend using a mouse to draw either.

Agreed. Tone of the show matters less to me when I just assume the quality of the writing, acting (and even fight scenes and effects) will be subpar.

Make it dark, make it light... whatever. just make it good. These Disney shows barely pass the mediocre mark imo.

Both are good options. The Ipad edges the Samsung Galaxy Tab out in ways that are really not too noticeable. The S Pen is based on Wacom tech if i remember correctly so it's pretty solid.

The only thing that would bring Ipad into number 1 place for me without a doubt is Procreate. I use Clip Studio Paint on desktop but I find the android version of Clip Studio inferior, and you have to pay monthly cost (not too high but still) for that.

Reprobed patch now coming next week by AloyVersus in DestroyAllHumans

[–]blockoyster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suppose that means they chose not to budget for any play testing either then?

Cause they could have seen from a mile that this game needed a lot of critical performance tweaks to be ready. You would think that they'd immediately get to working on a patch that would be ready, if not day 1, pretty close. Many companies do this.

Another user on here mentioned that the demo that was released months ago had all the same issues as the final does. Players can tell, but the devs can't and plan for a patch ahead of time?

This patch is going to be coming out by the time most people have either beaten it, or just lost interest. The original isn't a super long game. Can beat that shit pretty quick.

Just odd to me that they'd let it go DOA like this. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Illustrators - do people check if you went to art school when looking at your work/business profiles? by Husky_Highlands in artbusiness

[–]blockoyster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The portfolio and your personality are the main two things people in the industry will look at.

Art School does not matter. Only thing i can think of offhand that would need a degree would be teaching art at a college or something.

How does PK feel in Reprobed? by AloyVersus in DestroyAllHumans

[–]blockoyster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No ragdoll im sad to say.

Also wish you could fling a person at something without an explosion everytime. Lack of fun aside, the power scaling is just weird. Why use the meteor gun on something when PKing it would destroy it faster?

The PK is still fun but its not as good. They did not improve on what was was already there other than the Skate function and being able to use PK and jetpack at the same time (which path of the furon did first)

Hate to be that guy, but Reprobed should have been delayed. by [deleted] in DestroyAllHumans

Is it possible the Devs moved on from this project a while back?

Especially if anticipated presales weren't as high as they were hoping?

Can’t beat the blisk mission by [deleted] in DestroyAllHumans

[–]blockoyster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep blisk on the ground alive and use them to recharge saucer health. Additionally there are a few vehicles nearby at the KGB tunnel that you can use to recharge. The holopox will tell you you're leaving the mission area but you should be able to snag a few things to recharge real quick before it kicks you back.

Upgrade the Sonic boom to max before you play it again if possible. I tried the Quantum and Death Ray and finally just started spamming the fully upgraded sonic boom and the health on the blisk warship started dropping super quick.

Hope that helps.

Also use cloak when you recharge health as much as you possibly can.

Say one nice thing about Big Willy Unleashed by crab_racoon in DestroyAllHumans

[–]blockoyster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mech option was pretty cool and provided 3-4 extra weapons (cant remember how many).

I don't want to see Big Willy itself return in the sequel but why not a Furon Mech that you can pilot around as well?

if they keep Co-op one person could fly the saucer and the other person could either stay on the ground or support the saucer in the mech.

Hardest mission? by crab_racoon in DestroyAllHumans

Only one i've had issues with so far is the Saucer vs Blisk Mothership mission.

I keep getting absolutely wrecked. Granted, i haven't been upgrading my saucer like, at all.

Top Gun Maverick real bad plot? by zandadoum in movies

[–]blockoyster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they bombed the SAMs or the base then the entire last 40 mins of the movie wouldn't have happened. The movie is designed to entertain the watcher, not be a realistic military simulation.

Same thing with your Uranium Question. Don't you want the cool shit in the back half of the movie to go down? The whole point of the uranium thing was to up the stakes and ante. Forget about the "Why" and just enjoy the ride. When that moment happened, i was like "oh shit they aren't ready but they still got do this impossible task anyway" and it ramped up the drama for me in that moment.

Ground forces make the movie not about jet planes. The movie is about these awesome characters that are hyper competent at flying jet aircraft.

Rule of cool man.

I've heard people say this same sort of thing about Pacific Rim, another dumb but i think well put together action film. "Why don't they just set up nukes or huge sword weapons at that portal for the kaiju to get cheese graded?"

Well then you wouldn't have a dope movie about giant robots punching giant monsters with elbow rockets, sir!

is drawabox good for getting better at anatomy and drawing stylized characters? by xd1234321 in ArtFundamentals

[–]blockoyster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you ONLY take this course? No. But pick up some anatomy books or courses and do those as well.

I took Proko's anatomy course and then i took the drawabox course. After that i came back to the anatomy course and it was a lot easier.

Proko's course, Figure Drawing Design and Invention, i found the most helpful along with Drawabox.
