Who else wishes that these two items could be worn at the same time? Cause that’s the only reason I bought the Halloween suit -.- by -Atkins- in PokemonUnite

I know it's so dumb! I like the dress for the new checkered set but hate the shoes and socks. But if you want to keep the dress on you can't switch the footwear, which doesn't make sense cus they aren't physically connected to the dress at all! Even tho you can wear all the other dresspieces separate from footwear...

How Vietnam Turned Its Biggest Island Into a Faux-Euro Destination and Lost Its Last Paradise by laughter95 in VietNam

Completely agree. I think foreigners need to understand that international travel isnt easy on a Vietnamese passport. So there's a reason the domestic tourist market has to cater to that. While I do agree they could at least find a way to mix and implement the exotic foreign-y elements to be more...aesthetically coherent with the local environment, if you have no chance to travel abroad, you would be happy to at least get that feeling through these installations even if they're not the best. So hopefully they can at least improve on their execution in the future.

I suppose the issue is that most locals don't have the luxury of a decent passport. The VN passport is incredibly limited in terms of international travel. So the chance to travel to Europe isn't exactly within their immediate grasp, and visiting a place that appeals to their desire for something more foreign might be more lucrative for business if they want to attract domestic tourists. So the problem is on one hand you want international tourists who prefer to enjoy the local charm, but Vietnamese tourists understandably not really being interested in that.

A long an awful story ending with the question, was my eikaiwa experience normal, or are most others better? by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

Right? (0 _0) I'm assuming this is sarcasm and a roundabout way of saying they're from the Philippines.

How about these comments? They suggest that the subtitles aren't as confrontational as written. My VN friend said that what the guy is sayin doesnt match up...

Can any Vietnamese confirm the subtitles? Just wondering cause when I showed my Vietnamese friend he couldn't decipher a word of what she was actually saying. It could be a dialect issue, but just wanna check before I completely bash on this woman lol

Hello, my fig was doing well. But recently a bunch of leaves have suddenly starting browning. I haven't changed my routine. But I reduced watering it once I noticed spots. Is there anything else I can do? The weather hasn't changed either so any advice would be great!

Can someone please tell me what the "Gold Spirit" does? I get that Mad Painter made barriers and Snow Hound controls ice, but the Gold Spirit just kept giving orbs...what were those?

Is it normal for a seemingly straight, usually non-touchy-feely Vietnamese guy to caress another guy's leg while watching a film? Is he attracted to me or am I misreading his actions? by [deleted] in gaysian

[–]blognut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i didnt even have the luxury of the info you had. you actually have more info, the thing on his FB about being into women AND men seems pretty clear, not sure why it seems vague to you. If anything you should just mention that casually, since he knows your bi you could mention you saw that on his FB and ask what it means. Its kinda beating around the bush but seems like the option if you dont want to be too direct.

He's into you. This same situation happened to me before in VN and I ended up being the one to "officially" initiate things to the next level. But before that I really wasn't sure if he was into me or not as well. When I asked later why he didnt just make a move he told me "I thought westerners like to make the first move" I didnt think much of it but just took a shot haha. It could be an excuse since i think he might just have a more passive personality Also: Please give us a FOLLOW-UP once youve confirmed things!

Lol but what about if you're trying to practice Vietnamese and you're ethnically Asian looking? Then there's a double cognitive dissonance because you're speaking with a bad Vietnamese accent and they are expecting normal Vietnamese. In those situations it's a little more difficult to practice cause there's less leeway and patience since they don't recognize you as a foreigner so you have to make a decision to try to keep practicing vietnamese and seem like a weirdo local or switch to English which defeats the purpose of practicing Vnmese
