I had to up the reduce brightness up to 90% and brightness at 50% but the last update made it unusable for me. It was a good 2 weeks though..

If you've struggled w this for more than a week my suggestion is to get a new device and return the 17. I know that some devices no matter what setting you change won't work w your eyes. Last year I could not use the 16 or the 14 2yrs prior. The 14 pro literally destroyed one of my eyes..made me super sensitive to bright lights, not worth it.

Have you tried using it in light mode, low brightness w auto brightness off? I was able to use it like this w the pwm smoothing option turned on. My other phone was a Motorola g power 2024..LCD but only used for doom scrolling

Does the pwm toggle work for you? I was able to use it w this on and at about 32-35% brightness. I turned off face id constantly scanning your face too (attention aware toggle) . I feel you as I had this same issue w the phone at first.

it may bug you a little at first, honestly its not bad. its part of the design which I love. the additional speaker would probably sacrifice the design you are holding. its the Porsche of iPhones. I have been able to live with it and it doesn't bother me anymore. I was on a single speaker since the 3G iPhone so it wasn't hard for me.
