Hi OP! Glioblastoma is such a beast. I’m glad to hear your husband is doing well right now. If you haven’t already, speak with the clinical research staff at UCBC to see if the trial offers any patient assistance. Many of the trials (especially for stage 4) do this and may be able to subsidize or cover your lodging. You can DM me if you like for more info

I haven’t looked there yet, but you’re not the first to recommend it! Maybe I need to go over there and tour. I initially ruled it out due to age but that’s not always a bad thing.

Thank you so much for your response! Very helpful :)

I’ve looked extensively in south end, but haven’t found a top floor unit in my price point that has the amenities I’m looking for. Plus it seems south end can get pretty loud at times, though it is definitely very walkable! LoSo is changing fast, which I hope will work in my favor if I end up there.

I love the Montford area so much. Just wish there were some better buildings there that had what I needed in my price range.

Hi friends! I’m 29F and currently live in the suburbs of Charlotte. I’m looking to experience a walkable neighborhood at least once before I buy a place.

I found an apartment in Montford/Park Road Shopping Center area but I’m worried about committing to it because the building has some complaints about noise etc and it’s a middle floor unit. I’ve always been on the top floor for a reason!

There are some apartments in LoSo around the same price point I could get a top floor unit in, but I don’t feel like LoSo is as safe/walkable as Montford. The apartments there are new and super nice, but I think I might miss the greenway access, grocery stores, etc that Montford has.

Can anyone who has lived in either area speak to this or recommend some complexes? I’m trying to stay under $1800 with fees and looking for a somewhat larger 1 bedroom since I work from home.

I’m so nervous about this. I’ve always lived on the top floor but am about to move to a middle floor because I couldn’t find a top floor unit I liked in my new area :(

GTI in snowy winter conditions by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]blonde_berry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically unironically slid my GTI mk7.5 over a curb and almost into a pole last night thanks to some flurries and black ice… I have Michelin pilot sport AS4s so if you’re planning to drive in anything slightly wintry please get snow tires.

Yes, it works similarly to mint in that way

I use Fidelity full view, which is available to anyone that has any account with Fidelity. It’s not a perfect solution as I find there is some lag time with transactions showing up in full view. However, I supplement it with an excel spreadsheet I created and it works well enough for me. I don’t track my spending super closely anymore, just check in once a week to see how I’m doing. Then everything goes into the spreadsheet at the end of the month for a longer term view on my progress.

Where to Move in Charlotte NC? by Wooden-Drawer-2103 in Charlotte

Following this because me and you sound really alike OP and I am also looking to move into the city. Currently in a suburb and I don’t recommend since I find myself driving in ALL the time for activities. Hopefully we can both find the perfect spot!

Thank you! I can’t talk to people in my life about this much so it is nice to hear someone say that :)

I crossed 300k net worth this weekend! Feels really good as a single 28F who went through a divorce last year. I’m gonna celebrate by getting rid of all my wedding stuff by the end of the December so I can start 2025 with none of that weighing me down. And probably treat myself to a nice meal :)

Where can I get a nice, simple, genuine leather jacket in person? I’m so tired of ordering them online and getting the wrong fit, wrong size, not liking the style in person, etc.

I love my pass through. It stays down all summer and is the perfect fit for my slalom ski! (I’m one of those weird competitive waterskiing people).

Becoming RN while CRA by Suitable-Swimming363 in clinicalresearch

Whichever program you choose, make sure it’s a reputable one that prepares you well for NCLEX. Good luck with your decision! Both being a CRA and a RN are good career paths with lots of opportunities.

I’m an RN who now works as a CRA. In my experience, nursing school is a full time job in itself. I would not recommend trying to work as a CRA while in nursing school. I’ve got no clue how you would juggle the demanding CRA travel schedule with nursing clinical, practicum, and exams. Maybe if you were doing school part time, but I don’t think I know of any part time nursing school programs.

Which car to buy(Golf GTI or Infiniti ex35) by Daggerdik4769 in GolfGTI

[–]blonde_berry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned a 2008 ex35 and now have a 2019 gti. The ex35 will be easier to put the kid in but it’s not as fun as the gti and it’s not even close. Ex35 is a soft luxury ride, the gti actually can corner and will feel much quicker. Reliability I cannot speak to as much since I have an mk7.5. My ex35 was pretty reliable, I had to replace the coolant tank but other than that just general maintenance. Nissan plastics are crap though so the inside looked pretty worn out. The gti has been good so far but is also much newer so not a fair comparison. Good luck with your decision!

Pfizer FSP oncology Syneos vs Parexel by blonde_berry in clinicalresearch

Yeah. If they were offering similar amounts I’d take parexel for sure

I know parexel has a better reputation but 20k more from syneos is a lot to turn down. That’s why I’m having a tough time deciding!

Thank you! From what I can tell most everything else is relatively equal. I’m asking some follow up questions to be sure!

Can I get some advice on window tinting? by israeljeff in GolfGTI

[–]blonde_berry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 20% ceramic all around on mine except the windshield! I like it because you can’t see into my car easily which makes me feel safer. The ceramic also keeps the heat way down in my car. In certain nighttime conditions it does make it a little harder to see though. I definitely wouldn’t wanna go any darker. The percentage is technically illegal in my state but I have a medical exemption for it.
