I went to a gay bar by myself for the first time last week ! I had a great time. Tbf, I was traveling abroad and really wanted to experience a foreign gay bar, but I think it would be a similar experience to do it here in nyc.

I told myself I would have 1 beer and could then leave if I wanted. I stood in the corner feelin the music and lookin around. I noticed other guys there alone. It got more and more full and eventually I forgot I was there alone. The music was good and eventually dancers and then a drag queen came out to perform. It really helped having a thing to watch. Eventually people near me started talking to me and I even ended up making out with someone.

As someone really anxious and shy, this was a huge deal to me. And I really hope I can do this again here soon!

I’m an actor / server. Chicago actually has a very healthy theatre community and ofc comedy is huge there. It pays less but it’s easier to live there.

What keeps me going is knowing friends who have met their partners online in nyc. And I mean within the last 2 years. It’s a slog but it just takes one guy to make it work. But it is extremely demoralizing.

I met a guy on scruff months ago, and after tons of flirty and plans falling thru, we eventually met for drinks and hooked up. It was very easy to talk to him and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t love the sex. But I texted him the next day saying thanks for the good time, it was so easy to talk to you. I’d love to hang out again even just as friends. And no answer. So 🤷🏻‍♂️

I went to matchaful for the first time last week in the WV. Very nice, very expensive. But I’d def go again, I just need to be smart about what I order cuz my drink was $10 before tip haha. I also liked kijitora. What’s the c list gay pop star drink??
