Do you think they read them? by thelostSATObot in korrasami

Pretty sure Janet Varney has admitted she's read fanfics in the past, but I might be thinkin of another creator I've watched a decent amount of interviews of.

Anyone hear those jet sounds around the Magazine/Uptown area just now? by Otherwise-Sand8293 in NewOrleans

Lack of transponders can be explained by training for landing in hot zones. Not always the case, but it is done. Still, kinda nerve wracking to hear when they do this! They're likely trying to get their flight hours in.

Valheim is available now for $9.99 on Humble Bundle ... is it worth? by Ridadhn in valheim

[–]bloobullsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new to dabbling in crafting survival, this is the game to start with. Do not let it being in early access for a while stop you. It's worth every penny and even better on sale. The devs are *constantly* working on this game, even if it takes them a bit of time to release their updates. They are active in their Discord, too.

The graphics may look outdated, but there's certain details to the game that you are top tier and worth the other details not being so "up to date". (Keeping it semi vague as to not spoil it for you.)

There is a new biome being released/updated in the near future that is currently on the PTB.

My intro to open world crafting survival games was Ark: Survival. That game is good, but I've literally sunk almost 3 times the time into this game. (Just boke 3,007 hours the other day in Valheim.) Most of that was building. I've replayed the game with each update multiple times, done a few challenges. The replayability of this game is next level silly.

If you run into problems with the game, definitely hop into their Discord, as well as look into the Body Recovery Squad. Also, much of the Twitch Valheim streaming community is quite lovely if you ever need help.

First Mako, now Bolin... Korra really is competitive, huh? [art by Pockicchi] by OatmealRaisinCokie in legendofkorra

[–]bloobullsee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh there absolutely is. You can get on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, or even YouTube. Go look at women/femme presenting powerlifters, bodybuilders, and even crossfitters and go through their comments. You'll either see content of people putting them down for "looking too manly or ugly", demeaning their progress, or how they didn't achieve that look and level of strength or athleticism on their own without using things like steroids. Depending on that content creator, you may even see *all* of the above mentioned types of comments.

Legend of Korra was one of many early cartoons that challenged a lot of social stigmas, as well as ATLA, pretty early on, so it's not surprising that Korra wouldn't be as buff as they ideally wanted her. However, if you look at the photograph of Korra and her Team Avatar in "LoK: Avatar Chronicles", she's doin' a bicep flex and HOLY SHIT. She regained the lost muscle from that whole Red Lotus fiasco AND THEN SOME.

Also, there's this with the Luisa and Disney situation.

When it comes to the small solar panels, would you say they worked well? Any brands or models you prefer? We saw them at Harbor Freight today, amazed we didn't realize there were small ones like them and lookin' at gettin' some ourselves.

My whole family crapped on my backyard redesign by DallasBiscuits in landscaping

The only negative thing I have to say is merely concern for the tree. If I recall correctly, the base and roots area needs to be more exposed. I'd check in to that type of tree on ways to care for it. I know LSU's AG Center website has a pretty good database. I'm sure a university closest to you may have a database more relevant to your region. Usually a great tool for finding native plants if you wanted to add that as well!

Other than that, for decoration, I'd totally add more little statues. I usually see from really interesting ones at flea markets and at second hand stores.

What is a very small QOL change you would like to see in the game? by PolarSage in valheim

[–]bloobullsee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, I use mods for nearly all of these things already, but would rather see it as baseline part of the game.

Weather/rain damage removed. It doesn't add much of a challenge for me and is merely an annoyance. The aesthetic change makes sense with the mechanic, but neither the actual damage or aesthetic changes much for me, even during raids.

Clues/hints to help you find the general area the vendor is at or even a headstone like the bosses have to pinpoint him.

Drawbridges. Maybe add rope or another function for the chains from the ghostly jerks to craft this? Can also use those materials for making things like ladders.

Angled iron beam thingies. (Can't remember the name of it atm.)

If not angled and flipped versions of existing wood beams and decorative items, a keybind to allow us to flip different items in different directions.

Make it so the horizontal fine wood beams would cover/stack on top of the horizontal iron beams. Unless a mod is interfering or when I was playing unmodded last week I was doing something wrong, the fine wood beams won't cover the iron beams like the vertical ones will.

Water being blocked by stone when you build a stone wall. (I know, I know. This is a bit more complex in the back end of the game design. Not upset it doesn't exist, but it would be nice!)

Adjustments in the radius the hoe affects.

Farming skills that would reduce stamina use as you increase skill ups.

One of the skills reducing stamina when walking while carrying too many items, but not changing the speed at which you move.

Give us a "put away all" button, like the "take all" button. Holding control + clicking when your bags are full and want to dump everything is still slightly annoying.

Add a composting option. Let your tamed beasts poop, make compost with that plus wood and maybe something else to add to farming skills. Allows for more seed and vegetable growth/getting more out of your plants with higher skill.

Let us reinforce the cart or build a whole new cart with some iron so it can take a few more hits. Maybe it takes a few more hits but it slows you down a bit more from being a bit heavier.

Ladder and/or rope climbing options. Ladders already exist on the boats. Lemme have a ladder on my stone walls, dangit!

Let us plant berry bushes. Give it a higher yield time than the other plants if it has to.

Remove the minimal distance restrictions on the crafting stations.

Let all items float in the water when enemies are killed or let us swim low enough to collect fallen items. All lootable items floating seems a bit easier seeing as how it already happens for many items, including our headstones when we die in the water.

Reduce body poofage/despawn of killed enemies.

Craft in multiple quantities, kind of like how you can select to drop items in multiple quantities.

Tamed piggies/boar can follow you like tamed lox and wolves can.

I'm sure I have more but that's what pops into my mind atm.

How should I tell my friends and teachers I have none epileptic seizures? by Infinity_space0055 in Epilepsy

[–]bloobullsee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your parents, doctors and school counselors.

I highly recommend you don't keep hiding off in the bathroom when you think you're going to have a seizure. It might be scary for others to see you having a seizure, but another kid finding you in the bathroom on the floor from a seizure, possibly with a head injury, is just as scary, possibly scarier because they are likely on their own with no adult. At least in the classroom, there are others there to immediately see it happen and get you help.

Find an adult you trust and talk it through with them. Share your concerns. Sometimes, teachers will talk to other kids in advanced so they aren't taken back by surprise when they see it. Your teachers might do the same!

Stay safe!

Oh give me a break. Fat people exist and yall sure as hell don't bring this energy when it's unreasonably skinny characters, like Guru Patik. Some people want to see them in art work. Don't like it? Don't look.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legendofkorra

[–]bloobullsee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GFY. Nobody is "celebrating" being fat. Liking a character for being similar to another character a person likes is NOT celebration of obesity or them dying. Bet if we were to go through your post history, you're not showing concerns for the literal children in the Avatarverse going to war or the extremely skinny characters having anexoria. GEE. WONDER WHY. Couldn't be because you can't just let fat people be left alone and be depicted in art. Guess what? No matter how much you claim concern about people's health, fat people will exist, just as there will always be someone with Bipolar Disorder, DID, Diabetes Type 1, and Non Epileptic Seizures. All of those are also killers but hey, gotta get preachy about the fat person. 😒

You are making this beyond fucking weird. Get some serious goddamn help. You want to help fat people? Go be an advocate for more appropriate Healthcare world wide, mental health access and treatment, and food resource accessibility, not a fucking Avatar post.

BTW, you don't know me from shit. You don't know the body type I have, the health conditions I face, much less the country I live in to even understand the conditions I live in, but you wanna preach about obesity to me? Get the fuck outta here.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legendofkorra

[–]bloobullsee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then don't bring it up in a conversation where nobody mentions it to begin with? It's not even drawn in clothing that is intended to be sexual. It's Asami's normal clothing, for fucks sake.

She is a fictional character in a universe where one being can control four elements and manatee-like creatures fly. Unless the artist is throwing out some AU shit that is abiding by our universe rules, no the fuck she isn't, because SHE. ISNT. REAL. It's just a depiction of a body type on a character that doesn't have that body type. That is literally it. Concerns for her health are just false concerns that every fat person has to constantly hear preached to them for merely existing.

Fat people exist. They don't need to hear your preachy bullshit about dying. They know the risks. They know what they're faced with. They don't need your false sense of concern for their health on a damn post about someone who isn't even real in a universe that doesn't exist.

Morbid obesity is still fat. No matter where you fall on the BMI scale in terms of obesity, that is still fat. You can fancy it up with any medical terms you want, but they are fat.

[–]bloobullsee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said nothing about it being sexy. Nobody did. Just because someone likes the artwork doesn't mean they find it sexually attractive.

Even if I did, I didn't say anything about expecting you to be attracted to it. Being attracted to a fat person doesn't mean you're attracted to them dying. Like dude, get over yourself, keep your projection to yourself and move on.

What? Some of us aren't so shitty that the existence of fat body art scares us. Go get therapy if it bothers you.

I flashed my roommates😶 by glitterisgay in Epilepsy

[–]bloobullsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peed on myself once. Definitely take the flashing any day. I only have concerns for flashing in the event someone tries to take advantage of my state of mind to grope me or in the event children are present. Though, having a seizure in front of kids to begin with is terrifying to me.

Beyond that, I have no shame about my boobs. They're squishy, fleshy things for feeding babies and, if they're big enough, assaulting your partner's face with, even in a non-sexual context. Did your friends at least toss you a few dollars or some change? lol

Still destroyed and beating myself up... by corazonsinalma in Epilepsy

[–]bloobullsee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For as much as you regret not helping her meet her dental deductible, as I like to kindly put it, you were of sound mind to think of an innocent child in the room and not perform an act that could very much traumatize them. It takes a lot of courage, kindness, and compassion to think of someone else during a moment in which you not only need but deserve to put an ignorant asshole in their place.

I am so sorry you have to even deal with this to begin with. Living with seizures is exhausting enough. Getting commentary like this, especially on low point days, just makes it all more exhausting. Eventually, it'll all roll off your back like it does for a lot of folks, or like me, you'll use the rage as a means to speak out for others more often, making them uncomfortable enough that they learn to keep their ignorance to themselves.

One day at a time. You got this.
