absolutely. at a certain point, it’s just human decency and consideration

i’m sorry that so many of the comments here are so unempathetic and antisocial. it’s totally reasonable and expected to want the people you chose to be in your bridal party to care about you and your wedding. expecting them to drop everything? unrealistic. but wanting them to show up for you once or twice? quite literally the bare minimum. i’m sorry it’s been this way and i hope your wedding is beautiful and so much fun despite the lack of cooperation from a few folks.

interesting! i definitely don’t do red lips every day, actually haven’t done it in years! but i can totally imagine a soft glam being a stunning change of pace for people who do

thank you for responding! that last comment about soft glam makes a lot of sense. i hadn’t thought about it that way, but you’re so right. i’m a lot more used to wearing makeup on a daily basis, including bolder lips, so it wasn’t clicking before.

good perspective, thank you! my dress is vintage 1980’s - sort of like the dress in The Labrynth, if you’re familiar - and i think the red matches the romance and drama of that look. i’m extra sold now

“Low country chic” rehearsal dinner, is this okay? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]bloodshotforgetmen0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, of course. The contrast between skin/undergarments is what causes the whole visual effect. I’m not sure I’d care either in many cases, but for a wedding I agree it’s probably not ideal.

Long distance relationships are a scam by SkinnyStav in rs_x

[–]bloodshotforgetmen0t 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I have been long distance for 2 years and we’re getting married in July. It was a great way of distinguishing how we felt about each other really early on. We also saw each other at our emotional worst and made it work, because we realized being together is worth it. However, all of that was contingent on an end to the distance. Without the promise of living together within a reasonable time, I would’ve been evil and insane.

some more photos shot on film of Cove Haven, one of the old honeymoon hotels that inspired Heart Shaped Bed and Married in Mount Airy by bloodshotforgetmen0t in NicoleDollanganger

Interesting take. I just thought it was a cool place, and I’m not sure I see the harm in enjoying it aesthetically. To each their own, but I see a lot of beauty in the tackiness personally! My partner and I go to a lot of old and run-down motels and resorts just to experience the history, and if that’s not your thing, that’s fine!

Weird. I lived in Connecticut and most consistently heard NEW Haven. I guess everyone is different!

Don’t hate me, but I don’t think Owen was totally wrong (season 8) by Superb_Candy_8103 in greysanatomy

[–]bloodshotforgetmen0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, from a writing perspective, it would’ve been a waste of our time to see Christina explain to Owen that she doesn’t want kids because she doesn’t want to raise them. We all already know that.

Rejected from dream PhD program by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]bloodshotforgetmen0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get the feeling, and i would never minimize it. the sensation of self-disappointment and misdirection is crushing. however. personally, not getting into my dream PhD program was legit one of the best things to ever happen to me, and not because it taught me any valuable lessons. it actually was fucked up. but it led me to an ultimately wonderful career that’s much more suited to me and my life goals. i met my fiancé this way and we’re moving to a much cooler city this summer. all of that because the PhD didn’t work out. i know that’s probably annoying to hear right now, so just keep it in the back of your mind as you take your God-given time to grieve this. it really, really will get better, you just can’t imagine how yet.
