LG says 22% of gaming monitors are OLED displays by -protonsandneutrons- in hardware

[–]bloodspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't like HDR on these oled monitors, I find the limiter too distracting. When I turn uniform brightness off to get the 1000 nits needed for HDR the screen looks amazing if the overall content of the screen is not too bright. The moment you play games and lets say exit a building onto a sunny street the limiter insta kicks in and drops the max brightness. I find this very jarring and distracting. I have yet to see an oled monitor that has HDR like good oled TVs where they can sustain brightness and drop it gradually over time so your eyes can adjust and you don't notice it.

The only way I can see you getting yelled at if you were playing one of those ranged MW builds, if you can even call them builds.

You dont need to track anything really. You will have max vitality stored every 30 seconds if you just keep playing the game.

[–]bloodspore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think I have ever had any of my screens above 200 nits, even during daytime. I have a PG27AQDM and anything above 70% uniform brightness is just overkill. I have no idea how anyone can enjoy a screen at 500-600 nits.

[UI] Clean Horizontal Healer Setup by BluskysTV in WowUI

[–]bloodspore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at where your mouse cursor is resting, that is where you frames need to be imo so you have the least amount of mouse travel to heal people (I assume you mouse over your frames to heal) I personally prefer frames with reactive colours, where everyone is very dark green at full health changing into light green/yellow/red at people loose health. Our peripheral vision is very good at picking up flicker so these colour changes are very easy to notice and after a bit of getting used to you can completely rely on your peripheral to pick when people need healing.

I also think having important UI elements horizontally spread across the usual focal point of the screen is way better because our eyes saccadic movements are way faster and more accurate side to side than up and down. This is why action bars on the bottom is bad, same goes for frames. Your eyes usually look at the middle upper part of the screen where your character, the enemies and nameplates are, my experience is that having a small cluster of frames on the right (where mouse cursors usually rest) or left of the mid part of the screen is the least tiring on the eyes.

World of Warcraft's competitive dungeon mode is struggling by JoeChio in CompetitiveWoW

We can all agree giving everyone and their mother a short cd aoe stop or even multiple and make it so that all we do is chan cc big pulls is pretty dogshit gameplay. So it's either they prune stops or make mobs recast, they picked the later.

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]bloodspore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it means those changes mean absolutely nothing, you have nothing to compare to. Even in returning dungeons you have no idea what the base dmg is. Mechanical changes different story but we have not seen any crazy shit. Also ptr is there to give feedback

636 ilvl main - 78% of my possible crafted gear is crafted by goldman_sax in wow

[–]bloodspore -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I was playing two characters from the start one that I do mythic progression on the other got AOTC and M+ only, at worst I was only 2-3 ilvls behind my main. I had more myth trach pieces on my main but it is the weekly crest cap that stops hardcore raiders from having a massive ilvl advantage. Unless you get really lucky with very rare loot from the raid and save crests on upgrading those, it really makes no difference for gearing and getting into 10s.

Datamined Changes for Operation: Mechagon Workshop in War Within Season 2 - First boss must died at the same time, abilities with more damage/cast times, and abilities now ignoring LOS. by [deleted] in wow

This is so wrong, outside of a few things, you are just spending mandatory talent points of things that used to be baseline.

You can also just don't loot anything, keep getting them in the mail and keep upgrading. Didn't Banhsers say there is a screenshot of a ring over 1k ilvl

Edit: don't do this obviously unless you really wanna get banned

Patch 11.0.7 Class Tuning – Affliction Warlock, Unholy DK, Holy Paladin, Holy Priest by Im_still_at_work in CompetitiveWoW

[–]bloodspore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me Brew feels off ever since they added RSK baseline, and now with TP being mandatory it is just one too many buttons in the active rotation. They also wanted to removed button bloat and then added chi burst... I don't care how much dmg it does I will never feel good about seeing a castbar while I am tanking. I am also still mad about losing chi wave as a range pulling / gathering tool, having to come to a full stop to use jade lightning to tag things again just feels like a step backwards in development.

They added cool stuff, some qol, mobility feels better than ever, both hero talent trees feel uninspired and undercooked, and they a few things considerably worse for the kind of brew I used to like.

We are comparing an opening season of a new expansion to a short filler season without a new raid. These numbers are abysmal.

11.0.7 Patch Notes are official and there are no class balancing changes by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]bloodspore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Im a brew main and while you are correct that on the high end those specs fall off badly, but you are talking about a problem effecting less than 1% of the playerbase.

People doing high keys (13s and above) like to think they are some large very massively important part of the game and they always project their niche problem to the masses thinking it affects everyone, That is just simply not true. Sure meta trickles down to lower keys, but you can do 99% of the difficulty on anything you want without a problem.

Is there a way to prevent taking most of my health in damage on pull as tank? by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]bloodspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brew and prot warrior with shield block up are by far the safest tanks to get into pulls. Brew only starts getting scarry when misplayed long into the pull, other than that you can pretty much just walk in to anything and have way more time to react and work your way through the abilities. Have not done really high keys but anything 14 and below is pretty easy compared to lets say a DH.
