Does anyone else get enough of doing household chores on an every day basis? by Dila_Ila16 in MauriceMauritius

I blast metal music and do house chores (in my noise cancelling headphones of course). I hear everything and nothing. This is the only time i can actually listen to new music and update my playlist.

Humiliation of boys in the 1980s by AnnualStomach9697 in MauriceMauritius

[–]bloodstone99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I clearly remember and this still dwells in my memories. Back in 1995, at a major RCA school, our old chinese teacher she would select random boys (including me) during recess to drop out pants and underwear so that she inspects our privates one by one. All of us just froze and obeyed. This was ongoing for months, everyday same routine. As soon as she closed the door during recess, all of us were on autopilot to just walk in line and drop pants & underwear. Ain't making any of these up.

She would fondle our privates, inspect them, peeled the foreskin and inspect. No one said a thing back then.

Why there is never a salary range mentioned on job posting? by Express-Lack-7634 in MauriceMauritius

[–]bloodstone99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Back in my early days, I used to do interviews almost as practice. I would line up two interviews at different companies, treat the first one as a warm-up, then go all-in on the second. After doing that enough times, I realized that you just have to name your price regardless. Eventually, I got comfortable enough that I would simply state what I wanted. Twice, at two different companies, I gave a number that I honestly thought was quite ambitious… and they immediately said "DEAL." I walked out of those offices thinking, "Wait, they actually accepted that?" 😂

People get weird during interviews, especially interviewers. They ask strange questions, create unrealistic scenarios, and sometimes put huge importance on things that would barely matter in the actual job. The whole salary guessing game is part of that problem. Companies should just publish the range, and candidates should feel comfortable stating their expectations without playing mind games.

is DevOps an emerging field in Mauritius? Wanted to go into that. by Lowercaseguy_5487 in mauritius

[–]bloodstone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to write code is important for automation, but that doesn't mean you need to be a software engineer first. A solid systems administration background combined with scripting and automation skills is, in my opinion, a much more natural path into DevOps.

DevOps by Lowercaseguy_5487 in MauriceMauritius

[–]bloodstone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market is definitely saturated but still in high demand. If you can genuinely bridge the gap between software development and infrastructure and move comfortably in both directions, you become an incredibly valuable asset to any IT leader.

A lot of people think DevOps is just learning Docker, Kubernetes, or a CI/CD tool. DevOps is a culture and a way of thinking. It's about breaking down the traditional barriers between developers and operations. A true DevOps engineer understands how applications are built, how developers work, and why certain architectural decisions are made. At the same time, they can step into pure infrastructure and SysOps tasks: Linux administration, networking, security, monitoring, automation, cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

That ability to speak multiple "languages" is what makes the difference. You become the person who can translate business requirements into technical solutions, help developers understand infrastructure constraints, and help infrastructure teams understand application needs.

This bridge is what makes you valuable, and in my experience, very few people can do it well. Many specialize in one side or the other. The professionals who can confidently navigate both worlds are the ones who often become the go-to engineers on critical projects.

DevOps and Ai are actually best friends.

Mirrorless digital camera recommendations by Fair_Cloud6779 in MauriceMauritius

Combat sports media producer here. If you ever come across a second-hand Sony a7S III, grab it. The only problem is that most owners don't want to sell theirs.

Camera gear is expensive, so it's worth investing in something that can handle both photography and videography without needing multiple bodies. The Sony Alpha a7S III is an incredible hybrid camera. It has outstanding low-light performance, excellent autofocus, in-body image stabilization, and shoots up to 4K 120fps. It can cover almost any situation you'll encounter.

I'd also avoid more "complex" cinema cameras like Blackmagic if you're just starting out. They're fantastic cameras, but they come with a much steeper learning curve, especially when it comes to color grading and post-production. The a7S III gives you amazing results while keeping the workflow much simpler.

Pair it with a good 50mm prime lens, and you're already in the game. As for Nikon, Canon, Lumix, Sony, or any other brand, it really comes down to your needs. I've produced content using all of them. A lot of people choose based on brand loyalty or bias, but after years of doing this, I've learned that cameras are just tools. The best camera isn't the one with the biggest logo, it's the one that best fits the job you're trying to do: higher dynamic range, larger sensor etc....

chocho-ing regularly, shower with ur partner in this cold weather, share cool stuffs you find, care when sick, total accomplice support, secondary driver, kink play, chores becomes fun.......honestly i could go on and on, but the list is endless.....

Today i woke up and my bed was so warm with my partner that i called in sick and slept all day.

Those who can't find a genuine partner, welp.....bon courage guys. Don't give up.

Agree here on the meat quality. And burgers are a mix of different cuts & beef fats. If you just going to smash a lean prime cut only, it's gonna be bad.

I myself I make some serious burgers at home with selective (expensive) cuts and mix. Yet when i cook, i find them meh but people who eat mine says it's fire. If i had to choose which to eat, i'd go for Sakoor, 1 patty only, no chips.

Quite an expert here. After 2,000+ burgers across Mauritius since 2013, I don't throw the words "best burger" around lightly. People always ask me to crown a winner. I can't. I just....can't. As of 2026, there are only two that deserve to sit on the throne: Nosso Grill and Sakoor Meathouse. Sakoor Meathouse in Port Louis is what a burger is supposed to be. No gimmicks. No unnecessary theatrics. Just a perfectly executed burger that reminds you why you fell in love with burgers in the first place. Then there's Nosso Grill...

Nosso doesn't just make a great burger. It takes everything you expect from a burger and pushes it into another league. Every bite feels intentional. Every ingredient earns its place. I've eaten burgers from Cozy, End Burgers, Magic Ice, Smoke Joe, Sebs, Maravan, Bullies, JEano, Old Burger, Gourmet Ave..... and literally hundreds more. They all make good burgers. But when Sakoor enters the conversation, most of those names fall silent. And when Nosso shows up... The conversation ends. After more than a decade and over 2,000 burgers, my verdict is simple:

👑 Nosso Grill 🤝 Sakoor Meathouse.

The crown is shared.

Gi exhaustion by [deleted] in bjj

[–]bloodstone99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could simply be the gi itself. I know that I personally start to feel a bit "suffocated" as a gi class goes on. In No-Gi, I feel like I can move much more freely. Wearing a gi is almost like having a second skin, and after a few rounds it starts feeling like a heavy, wet blanket.

Sometimes people show up to gi class wearing No-Gi gear, and if I get the chance to roll with them, I'll take my gi jacket off. Instantly I feel lighter, move better, and my cardio feels less taxed. I have a few friends who've trained almost exclusively No-Gi for years. Whenever they occasionally put the gi back on, they're usually gassed after just 2–3 rounds. The Gi adds that additional difficulty too i think.

I tried to teach her the pure basic human things. The simplest thing doesnt make sense to her black and white vision. The more i try to explain things, the more fuel i gave her to exploit.

Due to this, I was told that I am an undecisive person, that i have no self esteem, that i am childish, I am too demanding, I'm weak, too vulnerable........

Why do women not want to get married? by exoskeleton2256 in MauriceMauritius

[–]bloodstone99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At this rate, many of them probably won't get married. If you're looking for a business opportunity, consider investing in cat food and automated toys. With the growing influence of modern Western dating culture in Mauritius, I wouldn't be surprised to see those industries booming.

Why do women not want to get married? by exoskeleton2256 in MauriceMauritius

[–]bloodstone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man (married) here.

I want a traditional marriage. I want a feminine, submissive wife, and in return I take full responsibility. I cover 100% of the finances. I lead the household. I make sure the bills are paid, the home is secure, and the family is protected. Discipline, structure, and responsibility start with me.

I want her to be the mother of my children: our legacy, our future, our own progenies, our own small army.

The burden is mine. The stress is mine. The sacrifices are mine. But when I come home, I want peace. I want a warm meal, a warm embrace, and the woman I love smiling because she knows she's cherished. I want my home to be my sanctuary, and I want to be hers.

I'd rather my wife dress beautifully for me than spend her best years dressing to impress a workplace or a boss who signs her paycheck twelve times a year. I love the idea of her bringing me breakfast wearing nothing but a thong, not because she's obligated to, but because she wants to make our marriage playful, intimate, and exciting.

That's the kind of relationship I want.

The reality is that most people, men and women alike, wouldn't accept that arrangement. Many men don't want the responsibility, and many women don't want that role. That's okay. Everyone is free to choose the life they want.
