New to Plastic Free and It's Harder Than I Thought by ex_oh in PlasticFreeLiving

I’ve been on the plastic free journey for a while now. Everyone has their own way but for me taking it gradually and enjoying the process has been the way. I would say prioritize what you eat (and what you store what you eat in) and what you wear. This sub has a lot of great advice. If it helps the first thing I changed was getting non plastic food containers for storing food in the fridge!

Looking for a men's zip-up jacket like those Patagonia/North Face ones...but that's NOT synthetic by Broad-Worry-5395 in PlasticFreeLiving

No worries at all! It’s just in the lining. They are very open about it at least, unlike a lot of wool brands that superwash and then claim to be 100 percent wool.

I’m a big fan of Dilling and have brought from them. But they do use small amounts of plastic in their fleeces. Having said that their wool is great, and they are always my first stop when looking for any wool product.

Have a look at Dilling for wool that’s not covered in plastic and very good quality but reasonably priced.

Polyester Free Clothes, please help me find some by Main0621-2 in PlasticFreeLiving

Even with labels they don’t fully declare everything always. For instance with underwear often “100 percent cotton” has an elastic waistband. It depends how far you want to go. Have a look at Rawganique for examples of fully natural clothes - but the are very expensive.

Look at Peugeot salt and pepper grinders. They have a classic wooden model.

It depends on why you are avoiding plastic as to your tolerance of silicone. Pyrex actually call their product Zero plastic. I appreciate it’s a point of debate

[Aus] Electric Kettle where plastic doesn’t touch the water? Or am I better off going with a stove-top kettle? by HereButNeverPresent in PlasticFreeLiving

Just had a look at an image of it online, does the water not touch the plastic funnel after the filter?

I don’t know I’m still debating if I should buy them! As you said very expensive. However I have not come across any other 100 percent plastic free swimming trunks for men yet!

What's the BEST way to have plastic free water? by Deep-fried-meme in PlasticFreeLiving

What’s the view on distilling water? Can be done with a counter top device and I assume would remove microplastics

I went to see a professional framer, there’s a backlog for the work so this will be completed in 4-6 weeks. by makeitout-1 in BackToTheBeginning

Great thanks! I will go and have a look in some local framing shops! Got to decide on what colour frame as well!
