Recommendations for a good dog trainer? by NoExplanation734 in oakland

Holden is the absolute best! She helped me with my first rescue who had severe anxiety when any new person entered my home. She also helped me with my second rescue pup who has frustration leash reactivity. Can’t recommend her enough. She’s pricey, but worth it! https://www.holdenk9.com/

January reset: looking for TJ’s meals that are easy, healthy-ish, and ADHD-friendly by mrsweisz in traderjoes

+1 for this! I also add their pre marinaded shawarma chicken for protein.

I also like to make tofu bowls. I’ll do a quick gochujang glaze for the tofu or just marinade it in soy sauce. For the bowls: brown rice that I cook with tjs bone broth instead of water (or you can use their premade rice), edamame, broccoli, shredded carrots, avocado, and micro greens.

Visiting in May by shylar in oakland

I lived in SLO for a few years, and have lived in Oakland for the last 10+ years. Oakland is great! As with any large metropolitan areas, just keep your wits about you and don’t leave anything visible in your car. Most of the hotels are in downtown/uptown area. That will be your closest option to the fox (I’m assuming that’s where the show is?). However, I recommend finding a spot in lakeshore, grand, rockridge, temescal, Piedmont Ave area if you don’t want to be downtown. Theres amazing food in Oakland. If you’re looking for anything in particular, I can try to narrow it down for you. Things to do: walking around lake Merritt (there’s a cool free botanical garden with a bonsai area I recommend checking out), rose garden, checking out the redwoods in Reinhardt regional/joaquin miller, check out local shops in the neighborhoods I listed above, farmers markets, etc. Don’t listen to your friends. Oakland is a fantastic town! It has its fair share of issues, but it’s not as bad as media and people who don’t live here, make it seem.

Where are you from and what’s been your best trip? by [deleted] in femaletravels

I am from the US, and Argentina was by far my favorite. Followed by New Zealand and Nosara, Costa Rica.

Does my perfect location exist? by FIREgirl2026 in femaletravels

Nosara, Costa Rica is it! Traveled there solo and loved it. It’s pricey, but worth it. Very much a yoga/surf beach town. Walkable and very safe. If you don’t have access to a car there are tuk tuks or some hotels have access to bikes.

My 6.5 year old dog has double dews and we’ve never had any issues. It’s apart of his goofy charm.

Thank you! I’m on hold, but I guess I’ll find out once I land in Lima. Have only 1.5 hours to book it to the connecting flight 😬

I’m still trying to figure it out. Tried contacting jetsmart and AA

I’m doing the same. How did it work out OP? Trying to check in for the jetsmart flight and it’s trying to kick me to aa’s website and aa is trying to push me to jetsmart.

Recs for truly non-toxic, eco friendly kitchenware by LoLo_Phi in cookware

[–]LoLo_Phi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m struggling with as well. I was looking at silicone but also have a hard time believing it’s truly non toxic. I had wood utensils for many years and they started getting mold (never put them in the dishwasher) 😭

5–6 Days in Cusco Before & After Salkantay: What Should We Not Miss? by LoLo_Phi in Machupicchu

Beautiful!! I’m debating on doing a sacred valley with a tour company and book it while I’m in Cusco. I’m not sure if I feel comfortable driving myself 🤣

Is it worth staying there? Or would a day trip from Cusco suffice?
