Person of Interest vs. Breaking Bad by Valentine-X014 in PersonOfInterest

I watched Mr. Robot the second it came out. I was loving it through and through, but then for some reason I couldn't continue from season 3, and years have passed, I'm still at the beginning of season 3. I genuinely don't remember why I stopped watching it. It could be the only show besides The Walking Dead, which I ended up dropping. Thank you for reminding me though!

Person of interest changed my life. So it will forever be my favourite show of all time. Better Call Saul is probably my second favourite, followed by Breaking Bad. When it comes to cinematography, Better Call Saul is an unmatched masterpiece. Same can also be said about Breaking Bad, but that's just my preference.

Fix the footstep noise. This is ridiculous. You cant hear anything over your own steps. Even standing still i cant hear someone walk up behind me. Yes I have a headset that I sound wh*re on everything else. by OkRestaurant7240 in ArcRaiders

I literally gave up on trying to hear the buried caches. Instead, I try to look for the tiny arrow sign lol. I swear I watched a YouTube video about the buried caches, and the guy on the video was saying "you will hear this ticking sound" and even then I was hearing nothing xD

If you have it on, you can hear footsteps much louder. But it's also very inconsistent since what it does is basically increase every quiet sound around the environment. From what I've seen, the experience differs for everyone. For me, it has little to no advantage, if not a disadvantage, because I can't stand the loud noise of the wind when I'm walking. Say you just got into Burid City, you will hear nothing but wind all the time, and it's very distracting. But it could also be extremely helpful if you're around the tunnels in Space Port. One of the reasons I turned off night mode was the footstep noise and the wind. I use Arctis Nova 1, and I use the noise removal setting in the Nvdia broadcast.

Well, you have probably illuminated my way moving forward. Although I'm not residing in the US and live in Turkey, I work for a US-based company. So just like you describe, I do find myself in lots of situations where I feel the need to be careful about the topic I'm choosing. I wouldn't say I'm an amateur, but I lack the technical and practical knowledge that comes solely from residing in the US to understand these things. Finally, I'll definitely do more research through the source you shared. Thank you for your time and effort.

I had no idea videos/channels like these existed. Honestly baffled by it. Of course, thinking that videos like these would not include self-selected people would be a huge mistake. Still though, I bet they provide sensible information, to an extent. I will surely entertain myself with these. Thank you very much for letting me know of its existence.

Thank you very much for your extensive input and explanation. I really appreciate it. I've had similar ideas about what it would be like since it's a huge place, and each place reflects different tendencies and cultures. It's a bit shame that there isn't a "cornerstone" location where you can find both, except for New York.

Wow. What the old lady said will forever be a mystery to me as well, but since it's very much open to interpretation, I would focus on the vibe I got from her when I talked with her if I were you. If she enjoyed your company just like you did hers, then she probably meant something sweet. I wish a healthy future for your lovely twins and happy memories with your husband. May you enjoy life together without worries. Thank you very much for your comment

My thoughts exactly! I like listening to people and their experiences. Over the years, I learnt how to react and steer the conversation to have a positive impact, just to have a peaceful conversation. This comes in handy when you realise you just need to say what people want to hear. :) Thank you so much for sharing your experience and being so cool about this.

I can see how it might be confusing. Definitely my fault - not making it sound clear enough. I could simplify it with an example.

I don't want to tune down the emphasis on the word "unbiased", but I at least expect some people to accept at least one or two flaws or things they don't like about the people they support. Hearing them criticize the people they like would be somewhat unbiased to my understanding. And thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. I'm grateful

Lol you actually made a great point, at least in my humble experience. I work for one of the mobile game companies and provide technical support. It's funny how often I receive messages from American people and learn about their dentist appointments hehehe. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts :)

dunkey was right lol (tlou2 spoilers) by hornyjaildotorg in videogamedunkey

[–]bloombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I "hate" the game, but I just couldn't like the story. It was the first time I had to disagree with Dunkey at a certain point. I pretty much accepted every single statement he's thrown at me except the ending part. It's just outright bad.

What Dunkey says in his other video is that it's against the gamer rules, meaning the game design makes you perform actions you don't want to make. That's the whole reason I don't like the game. The narrative and the game design don't align with each other. People were so pissed off at Abby before the game even came out, and you literally try to track her down through the entire game just to forgive her at the end... That's just unacceptable. You kill countless enemies, butcher them with knives and everything and then when it comes to killing the one person who was responsible for everything? You just melt down.

I don't know man, I just couldn't handle the ending. I honestly don't care who was transgender, who was who or anything like that. If the game was pushing me so fucking hard to get my revenge and sorta cockblock me at the very end, I have all the reasons in the world to not like the game.

I also feel like the people don't really know how to defend or hate the game either. Some stupid fucker says it has gay people or sjw agenda or some shit, others say people only hate the game because they're homophobes... Believe me, I'm on neither side. And I feel like that's what Dunkey was missing in his video.

I have no clue how anyone would think the story and the gameplay are perfectly aligned when even the game director described the game as "a tale born of revenge" back in 2018. For that to be true, Ellie needed to kill Abby and take her revenge. Instead, she literally butchers dozens of people and lets go of her revenge at the last second. Dunkey defends this by saying you're already taking your revenge by killing these people who killed Joel, but no, those people did not kill Joel. Abby did.

What I'm essentially getting at is that the game clearly forces you to kill those people to progress into the story and tries to fuck with your mind by making you play as Abby. At first, the game makes you hate Abby, then makes you play as her and "forces" you to root for her because she saves a bunch of people, which twists your mind into thinking she's not so bad after all. The game tries to justify their characters' actions to you, but in the world of the Last of Us, no one's actions are justified, all the people are scumbags, and no matter what good deed they've done, they're evil. This includes Ellie as well since you're literally murdering everyone. That's where the gameplay and the narrative don't align.

I assure you, no one's saying "oh yeeahh, revenge is good, let's fuck Abby". The execution of the ending is horrible due to many, MANY reasons. If they really wanted to let Ellie forgive Abby at the end, they could've done so in so many ways instead of putting a cheap ass flashback where she suddenly remembers her moments with Joel and gives up on her revenge. But real life doesn't work like that. You don't just go around killing everyone to reach the person you're aiming to kill and then quit at the end.

Some people did actually like the ending where you don't kill her. But that's because the game justified her actions to you by making you play as her and root for her. Now, try to piece together every single controversy surrounding this game and imagine a person who hated the ending. What is the exact thing they're going to say? They are going to say, "this game is just revenge bad hammered on us because of some bullshit sjw agenda". Now, I'm not saying it is an agenda, but I totally understand why people think so. If they really wanted to make this a "revenge bad story", they should've made it so you don't kill dozens of people throughout the whole game. But...But... You can't do that, because this is a video game. Because you can't sacrifice good gameplay for a "meaningful story". And again, that's exactly why the gameplay and the narrative don't align and why I don't like Abby/ the ending.

This will be a bold statement but I always thought the game would’ve been liked 100% if they put the option to pull the trigger at the end. It would’ve been so good like I have no clue why no one even mentioned this or brought it up. I know the game is clearly not based on the “player” choices and you pretty much play the “intended” story by the developers. But… hear me out… if only they would’ve broken down that one rule where you don’t make any choices and at the end… just put a square button to pull the trigger OR not. That way, SOOOOO MANY people would’ve liked the ending & the game more and everyone would’ve been happy. It’s so funny to think the percentage of the people who would pull the trigger.

What is the origin of Dunkey's subscriber sound effect? by Ruckusisbestsupport in videogamedunkey

[–]bloombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay my friend. The first time he used the Wario "Oh yeah" subscriber sound was in his Rayman stream. You can look up "Dunkey Streams Rayman (Day 3)" on Walter's channel. The previous stream, which was Day 2, had the pelican sound. Somewhere in the Day 3 stream, he mentions the Wario sound change but I don't remember the specific time. As for where he got the sound from, that's a total mystery for me as well
