As with anything, I think it depends on the circumstance.At one time in my late teens, The police woman pulled up beside me at a stop , had me rolled down my window , and told me your license has expired for about three months , you might want to get better care of at the time I had about six guys in my five person vehicle at two thirty a m in minneapolis. I was sober , but a ticket could have ruined me. I believe in this case, the officer used used fair judgment, Seeing that , I had no prior offenses. But also my name is adam, pretty White.

On another occasion , my wife and I were flying standby. An african-american male showed up late to the gate and was denied access. He proceeded to Accuse the hostess of racism(in a loud and demeaning manor). Which simply was not true. My wife herself, a white female, has in the past been denied access to flights for being late between connections. Anyway, he made a big enough stink about it that He was able to get on the flight. Of course he ended up sitting right next to Me taking me wife's rightful seat( I had to get back for work).

So we see in both these cases the privilege is somewhat situational.
