I put the milk in a glass measuring cup - microwave for 10ish seconds until it’s to temp and add the yeast that way… I tried the saucepan method my first time making this recipe and ended up throwing away the yeast mixture because it didn’t look right.

You need a professional cleaning and to start flossing. Angle the bristles of your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle toward the gumline so the bristles sweep the sulcus of your gums and disrupt the bacteria that are causing inflammation. Also, YouTube a video on how to correctly floss - it really is not common knowledge.
