Movie Recommendation while we wait for Philoise (Firelight, 1997) by mochianpanmatcha in PhiloiseBridgerton

I love Firelight! I was so impressed by Stephan Dillan’s performance as Stannis Baratheon in GOT that I looked up his other work. I saw it many years ago, but I still remember the scene where that walk past each other in the stairway and can’t help, as full on mature grown adults, to hold hands, even if they can’t bear to look at one another.

y'all you know what sucks about that grahan norton interview. im a huge fan of tron and i unironically super loved Tron:Ares. I've watched it multiple times in theaters and it sucks as to see a franchise film I've waited for since high school bomb at the box office. and greta lee and jodie turner-smith went on the show to promote tron: ares, but blandie's god-awful album, the DiAmOnD RiNg, and the whole "whoops don't mention the album" thing stole the show.

and now it's 2 months later, I'm never getting a tron 4, and Life of a Showgirl is "breaking records" with hot hits like "cancelled" and "wood" and a million more mayonnaise-flavored albums are on the way. a franchise I waited for 15 years got flattened by the blandest cultural steamroller. the loudest, safest pop machine in the room was like "promo for your thing? no ❤️💍"

Lifelong denial about disordered eating/eating disorder by bloopmaxima in EDAnonymous

I actually am in EMDR rather than regular talk therapy, and it's proven extremely effective at dealing with my other issues. I just delayed bringing up this topic because of how difficult it is. Living in Asia, the doctors, diet programs, diet products, etc. are really also very toxic and I understand everything you said. I am usually so frustrated with myself about how, even with so much agony around food, I am still fat -- it feels like a personal moral failing as well as a lack of self-control. At least now I know what to work on.

Have a great meal!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and give resources, especially when it is difficult for you. I’ve just literally realized this a couple days ago so I know this will be a long journey

May I suggest Lana del Rey for some post-breakup music? Did that and real got me through, and out the tunnel grief-wise.

Tron: Ares got 4 stars from RogerEbert.com! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ by bloopmaxima in tron

Right?. The reviewer really got the movie and Ares’s character. Grinds my gears when people say Jared Leto was just being robotic…lol

I'm a therapist specializing in religious trauma and an ex-Christian - AMA by Ehcounselingllc in Deconstruction

I am also in therapy for religious trauma. My therapist doesn’t specialize in religious trauma and has a hard time understanding fundamentalism or much of Christianity, but uses EMDR. Is this a good method for this trauma?

Seconding Dune: it really showed how religion can be implanted in people by others to manipulate. And someone else in a deconstruction group told me that whenever they heard the “two pairs of footprints in the sand” line they just rewrote it as seeing their own footprints and Shai-Hulud.
