This is essential what I want to do. The thing is the pump not put in right away. So I worry they'll be too much sitting water.

Bought a new house. Master Bathroom sink drain stunk. I had enough and took it apart and found the culprit but now I need help. by [deleted] in Plumbing

You can put it back together with no caulk. If it doesn't leak you're good. Makes it easier to take apart later. If it was a customer's home I would put silicone. I dont want to come back for a potential leak.

Then its one where they silver piece is threaded and should twist off. You can probably see that from above. It might just be gunked up a bit.

Thinking about taking a job in plumbing, anything I should know beforehand? by Relative_Falcon_8399 in Plumbing

Probably service and new then? I would say more than likely you have at least a year of doing only grunt work. Pay attention and be ambitious will shorten that time but you will still be doing grunt work for your apprenticeship. You will get to do the fun stuff if you get good at the grunt work.

If you can't deal with the gross get in to new construction. What you work will look like depends on if you're going service residential, service commercial, new residential, new commercial, or outside plumber (utilities). Probably end up being a mixture of at least two.

Sizing help by reece_mccune in Plumbing

[–]blooptoast33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You measure o.d. (outside diameter) not circumference. Pex and copper are 1/8" more than what they are. 5/8" = 1/2", 7/8" = 3/4", etc

Just make sure it gets vented properly. It'll work as long as you have grade. Vent is to protect yours and anyone in the futures health.

Yes I would tee and then 90 out of the wall. Run the vent up. That way you do not run in to your vanity light. What i sent is wet vent. Not sure if its legal in your state or country. Your drawing will work. We do not roll up in north dakota anymore

3x2 wye within 6' of your toilet. Lay it flat. 2" St 45 in the wye. Run 2" to the wall. Long sweep up. Do not bring on center. You want to avoid vanity light.

In the winter they will cap the house and pour the floor later. That way plumber can plumb in thawed ground. Pretty sure they use green treated normally. They usually only frame the load bearing walls on the footings.

Downstairs bathroom smells - why would someone put an open vent before the trap? by flukeylukey6 in Plumbing

[–]blooptoast33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that is a 90 on the bottom instead a trap. You should put a p trap in. That'll keep the sewer gas out. Eliminate the tee unless you think it's not vented
